Really considering ‘the Spirit of Christ’ in Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
Kind of sobering is the ‘now of any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.’ Sobering because ‘the Spirit of Christ’ is not like the spirit of the world. Not prideful, or boastful. Not of fear unto bondage again. Doesn’t seek its own but that of another. Endures all things. Believes all things. Hopes all things. Bears all things. The Spirit of Christ Is ‘meek’ and ‘lowly of heart’. Matthew 11:28-29 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
2 Timothy 1:7 also says the Spirit of Christ is of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
1 Corinthians 4:18-21 Seems to also mention ‘the Spirit of Christ’ in “Now some are puffed up, as though I would not come to you. But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech of them which are puffed up, but the power. For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power. What will ye? shall I come unto you with a rod, OR IN LOVE, AND IN THE SPIRIT OF MEEKNESS?
Proverbs 16:18-19 says it is better to be of an humble spirit with the lowly (Which Christ said He is lowly and meek; it is better to be of the Spirit of Christ) then to divide the spoil with the proud.
“Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.”
Also Hebrews 10:31-34 seems to agree “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions; Partly, whilst ye were made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst ye became companions of them that were so used. For ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took JOYFULLY THE SPOILING OF YOUR GOODS, KNOWING IN YOURSELVES, that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance.
And Took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves ...that is is better to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.
1 Peter 3:4 even mentions the Spirit of Christ “But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a MEEK AND QUIET SPIRIT, which is in THE SIGHT OF GOD of great price.”
Yes, sobering is ‘Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.’
