Under what law shall mankind be judged?
“...And the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.” Rev 20:12
We will need to break this scripture apart in order to gain the proper understanding of its significance.
“The books were opened” What books are being spoken of here?
The books are the same ones by which the Church has been judged, the books of the Bible, both the New and the Old Testaments, and all the principles of righteousness therein laded out.
“For judgment came I into this world, that they that see not may see; and that they that see may become blind.” John 9:39
It was to establish the principles of the trial (the law) by which men will be judged, as well as to redeem them that our Lord came into this world; these principles apply both now in the Gospel age and in the age to come.
But as the scripture intimates not all at this time (during the Gospel age) believe in the principles set forth by the Lords word, no matter how much they do or do not understand of them. Even so these principles set forth in the New and Old Testaments will be the standard (the law) by which the world will be judged in the next age.
“And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, (at his first advent), but to save the world. He that rejects me, and receives not my words, (the written testimony, the Bible) hath one that judges him, (See John 5:45-47) the word that I have spoken, (through the scriptures) the same shall judge, (“krino”,"try") him in the last day (Acts 17:31 “the day appointed”).” John 12:47, 48
The fact that it is stated, “the books were opened” shows that up until the time of the judgment of the world, these same books were sealed, that is, they have not been fully, nor correctly understood by the world because God has deliberately hid from their eyes there understanding.
The Lord speaking to his disciples “… said unto them, Unto you is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, (that is, the rest of the world) all things come in parables: that seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest they should turn, and their sins be forgiven them.” Mark 4:11, 12
In the coming age the world will see the things previously hidden from their eyes and they shall be judged accordingly. None are now on trial to whom these books are not in some degree opened (understood).
The books of the Bible and the knowledge therein shall be fully and clearly emphasized and understood by all during the millennial age.
“And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind (the ignorant) shall see out of obscurity and out of darkness. Those also who erred in spirit will come to understanding, and they that complained will learn doctrine.” Isa 29:18, 24
“And I will bring the blind by a way that they know not; in paths that they know not will I lead them; I will make darkness light before them, and crooked places straight. These things will I do, and I will not forsake them.” Isa 42:16
“For then (in that age) will I restore to the peoples a pure language that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one accord.” Zep 3:9
“A pure language” The pure word of truth, uncontaminated by human tradition, unmixed with falsity and error, in total contradiction to the confused message: the contradiction of creeds of heathenism and Churchianity (Babylon), which is what is given now.
“The glory of the Lord, (God’s plan of redemption for all) shall be revealed, (made manifest) and all flesh (the whole world of mankind, the dead as well as the living) shall see it, (appreciate it, as it unfolds) together; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken it.” Isa 40:5
“So shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” Isa 55:11
“For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; who will have all men to be saved, AND come to the knowledge of the truth.” 1 Tim 2:3, 4
Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not [yet] done; saying, My counsel, (or purpose) shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure” Isa 46:10
“No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know ye the Lord,’ for they all shall know Me, (by My word, My messengers, and by My judgments) from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the Lord…” Jer 31:34
“Moreover the light of the moon, (the Old Testament, the Mosaic Law) shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun (the Gospel as written in the New Testament) shall be seven-fold (perfect), as the light of seven days…” Isa 30:26
“And in that day (The Millennial day) shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity and out of darkness.” Isa 29:18
“…For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.” Isa 11:9
