The question was raised... "Why Do I Need Your God?"
Without God my friend, there is no life: For He is Life itself!
(John 14:6) - "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
Now that we have this foundation established, let's move on...
You need Him because without Him you will spend an eternity in Hell. (Rom. 6:23) ; (Rev.20:15) - "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." ; "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."
What's Salvation?
Salvation can be defined as the forgiveness/cleansing/destruction of our "Sin Nature" (The Old Man) and the renewing of our eternal spirit. (2 Cor. 5:14-17) -
14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:
15 And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
How Does One Become Saved?
Salvation is a free gift of God obatainable only by Faith in His Son Jesus Christ whom died for our sins. (John 3:16-18).
What Is Faith?
We read in Hebrews 11:1 - "Now faith is the reality of things being hoped for, the proof of things not being seen."
Here's my two scents on the definition...
Faith is a commited trust in something or someone (this case being Christ) with a dedicated loyalty despite internal/external doubtings; Faith is not just believing, it is also engaging in that belief. Faith is literally giving yourself over to God, body, soul, and spirit. Saying Lord here I am... speak unto me.
Is it blind faith? No sir, it's simply holding onto the promises of God with patience and truth.
Faith Saves (1 John 1:9) - "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
Faith comes from the heart... it first begins with the recognizing of God and then is played out by putting our trust in Jesus, confessing/repenting of our Sin Nature.
So... What's The Purpose?
God's sovereign will is that everyone would come to Him; For he would that all men be saved. (1 Tim. 2:3-4)
1.) God wants us to be a part of His divine plan... But why?
- So that we might be His people.
God loves you , and He wants you to experience Salvation. However, you must have Faith in Christ and His Work on the cross!
Not everyone is going to heaven.... It's sad but true. God wants everyone to be saved, but the Bible tells us that not everyone will be.
Why not accept Him today? You know there may not be a tommorow... James tell us that our life is but as a vapour, here one moment, and gone the next.
For 1000 years to us is as just a day in God's eyes. Please I encourage you, make the choice of your lifetime, you will have no regrets.
