Separate room?

I just wrote a message for my mother since she is currently still asleep and I'm hoping that she might have some more ideas for me.

Ever since you mentioned him or her again I can't stop thinking about them now and I had a really good proposition for you it's just still the whole entire Jessie thing. I was thinking that if we checked back at the cemetery in a week and the cat was still there we could take it back with us and advertise that we had found a cat and see if anybody would come to claim it or if not maybe there would possibly be a chance of keeping it in the end,.. but at least this way if it's somebody's pet they would have a chance to come and claim it. I was also thinking that if we left it in the guest room with a baby gate we could separate it from Jessie until we could get it to a vet and would be sure that it would get along with Jessie but the only issue there is that either cat could jump the gate and that's the part that I got stuck on,.. but since I knew that we both really want to bring this cat home with us I figured that I was safe talking to you about it and I'm currently still trying to come up with ideas. I just don't want it to continue to be all alone out there.

Do you think having a baby gate up in the guest room would work until we're able to get the stray cat to a veterinarian? The only problem there is that either cat could leap over it.

You would have to use two or more baby gates

Look up,.. I decided to describe my issue to my mom. The first part of my plan about waiting a week and advertising a lost cat was good though but now I'm stuck. Even if we were to close the door, it could still happen when we are feeding the cat and changing its litterbox or something. :/

Ok April is this another cliff hanger? Cheer up.
Today I was at a yard sale...there was a lady buying a chest of drawers. One of her little girls....long curly blonde hair, dressed in pink, cute as a button, and she had found a pink three doll stroller, also cute, and she had a death grip on this thing. Her mom was saying that she could not have it and the little girl was whimpering. So I bought it for her. Now did I do it because I have this big heart or did I do it because I did not want my day ruined by listening to a pretty little girl cry her eyes out....pick number two.

Cat are cats and they are pretty resilient. I am not a cat person and they like me more than I like them. I have rescued a few, have had a few walk across the field and jump up on my lap and start making a nest....basically saying, you are mine now feed me! Pretty bossy little things.

So here is your suggestion....for one, this is going to happen to you again....be concerned about your feelings. Buy a pretty good sized cat carrier so you can isolate the cats, stuff them with food, and give you time to figure out where they are going....That way it does not completely stress you out when this happens, and you will feel good for planning ahead.

You can't get into the whole, who this cat belongs to.....save the cat....put up a poster.

I think you're all forgetting one important detail...

...the cat...it...lives in a cemetery...

...maybe something more than meets the eye is at play... something...

...I don't know...that movie Pet Cemetery keeps coming to mind...

...just saying.

Tone!! I know you're only joking but we're talking about a real living and breathing animal out there.

Let's hope so...

Ha ha just kittying!

I think it probably belongs to the cemetery itself--maybe ask the workers there.

I'll bet there's a cool story behind it!

No, there was nothing about it and if that was the case why would it have been skinny and acting like it hadn't eaten in days? Honestly this isn't really time to joke and I just broke my own rule for thinking of names for it and I already got two in mind if my mom says yes. One's for a boy and the other is for a girl. Cash and Treasure because cash is a form of cache of where our geocache was at and the other one is a pretty close name and geocaching is like a treasure hunt. :)

Or Precious could also be perfect for a girl since that's what she was. :)

Hmm,.. interesting. I just can't wait until tomorrow to find out what my mom has to say. I hope she says yes, but I'm a little nervous she'll say no,.. but if I didn't say anything I would never no and I know she wants the cat as badly as I do it's just we don't know what to do with it when it comes to Jessie and that's the frustrating part.

I had my heart broken 3 times over the past 8 years by losing my kitty-cats, and having decided to pay attention to the squirrels outside instead, I've cooled down towards cats. It could be someone else's cat.

Okay, so for those of you who don't already know,.. a couple of days ago I found a cat in a cemetery and it was when I was geocaching with my mom. We gave it fresh food and water but lately I haven't been able to get it out of my mind because even though there were houses nearby it looked and acted like it was starving and there have been some cold and rainy nights. :(

I really want to go check on it and bring it home to keep it (even though I wasn't originally planning on wanting another cat) but there are two issues with that. One, I already have a cat as most of you probably already know named Jessie and we're not sure how they would get along,.. and two,.. we're not sure if he or she already belongs to somebody but I can't stop thinking about them. Any ideas or advice? @Devin Wintch, @Taodeching,.. you're cat people do you have any suggestions? And @JohnDB I know you're not a cat person but I could really use some fatherly advice right now.

Oh yes third issue is that the cat was found like a half an hour from where we live and fourth being we're not sure if it's healthy (although it appears to be for the most part) and spayed or neutered. It was so cute, sweet, loving, and affectionate though and I just don't know what to do. :(

Edit: I think that @Mayflower is a cat lady too so I'm going to tag her as well. As well as @FluffyYellowDuck.
I somehow missed this. Yeah I have six... Lol!

So first it needs to be checked out to see if has a tracking thing on it, which it might not but it is easy to find out. separate the cats from the others until vet time, because it could have something contagious. Put the cat in a crate when it's around the other cats at first to slowly introduce. Flea and tick medicine! Be careful and watch for bumpy translucent things.. On the farm, I was the tick puller, but Lyme disease is no joke.

I got a crate at Goodwill for like $12. For some reason they always have them.

And @April_Rose when I took in a stray years ago, I brought the cat to a kitten rescue. I emailed the lady there first asking for help, so I brought her in and did the vaccinations for free because I was keeping him. You might have something like that around you.

Forgot to mention too, if you take the cat, youll want to make sure you wrap it in a towel or blanket so it doesn't run back off and it will help with anxiety. It calms them down and keeps your face safe from scratches.
