We find the same with Paul when he changed his mind about eating foods given to idols.....
Acts 21
[18] And the day following Paul went in with us unto James; and all the elders were present.
[19] And when he had saluted them, he declared particularly what things God had wrought among the Gentiles by his ministry.
[25] As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written and concluded that they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication.
And later, the same Paul that said do NOT eat things offered to idols, said the following....
1 Cor.10
[25] Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, that eat, asking no question for conscience sake:
[26] For the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof.
[27] If any of them that believe not bid you to a feast, and ye be disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience sake.
[28] But if any man say unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto idols, eat not for his sake that shewed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof:
So Paul thought about the situation and came to the conclusion that there was nothing wrong with (clean) meat offered to idols! Why? Because idols are nothing but wood and stone, they are not God! False idols cannot effect food!
And just as he thought about food offered to idols, if Paul did not write another letter saying at some point you must be circimcisied, then he, like Moses was wrong!
