I didn't write this article but I ran across it and I found it encouraging and thought the intro was adorable.

"On a certain thundering, rainy day, a mom went to pick her six-year-old son from school thinking that he would be afraid of the lightning. But she found him smiling at the sky for every flash of lightning. She asked, “Why are you smiling, aren’t you afraid?” Her son answered, “God is taking pictures of me and I need to look good.”

:p:D

Okay the cool part

"But first, let’s see what causes lightning and thunder.

When a cloud builds up, it creates many small bits of ice (frozen raindrops) that circulate and bump into each other. These collisions create an electric charge. The positive charges (protons) form at the top of the cloud and the negative (electrons) form at the bottom of a cloud, creating an atmosphere that is unbalanced and unstable.

Since opposites attract, it causes a positive charge to build up on the ground beneath the cloud. Thus, to rectify the imbalance, lightning is produced. The lightning seeks the shortest route to something that has a positive charge–such as a tree or a tall building.
....

James 5:16 says that the effectual (energetic), fervent (with passion) prayer of a righteous person avails much. The Bible also says that the prayers of the saints are rising like incense and being poured out of bowls in heaven (Revelation 5:8).

God is all powerful and full of energy (positive), but sometimes we have needs in life (negative). So, our prayers rise, like incense which represents the first lightning strike going up. Then, the responding flash is when God answers our prayer from heaven to earth."

I actually like this analogy. :)

Scripture says "Draw near unto God and He will draw near unto you," so there is again a sense of magnetism that occurs between God and us. Like she said in the article, I'm not talking about New Age concepts, just finding the analogy an interesting one. The power of God is real, the question is what draws it? I think it is our love for Him, and our desire to see more of Him manifest in the earth that in effect "brings Heaven down to earth," so to speak.

There is a weird phenomenon called ball lightning. I believe I saw it once. I was having a glass of wine and just sort of being there for an older woman whose husband had just passed away and a blue ball of light rushed towards the window and went up.

Turns out her daughter had seen them a couple of times before.

Had another time during my heartbroken crying freaking out stage where I was looking at that lightning painting for the first time in a LONG time. I forgot about it and the whole story. But I was scrolling through Facebook and found it and remembered the whole thing.

At the same time, there was a *SNAP* and a bolt of electricity shot in the room with the lamp (the one that broke the other night) and it was loud and terrifying.

I think my laptop charger had a loose wire and somehow maybe sparked and reached the lamp metal about 7-8 feet. That's the only explanation I can come up with.

I was having a lot of attacks at the time. So I don't know what it was. Moral of the story: Don't use a bad charger.

Yep. God uses storms in our lives to draw us closer to Him. Just be careful you don't get zapped with the lightning!

The Lord is with me and watches over me! I already got zapped enough lol

LoL! THAT's the moral of the story? :)

I think the moral of the story is to clothe yourself in the Lord Jesus Christ, sister, and get a new lamp that can handle the charge, LoL. I think you have a calling, and I think fulfilling it will involve putting the enemy under your feet.

Stick with your brother. Lighting doesn't burn out my stuff. If the enemy tries too much crap, I'll burn out his.

I try to come up with logical explanations :D:D
It helps me.

DEFINITELY got taken into battle for a while, luckily, I'm on the right side of things enough to see it clearly and now what to do. I thought about things and remember the battle axe prophecy and consider that it all might have been some sort of spiritual tests or training. A lot of learning to lean and stay close to Jesus.

I'll go along with the Lord's calling and do what he wants, but also a big deal to keep in mind to stay small and humble and not take myself too seriously. Taking myself too seriously or idolizing myself is dangerous.

The Lord will lead and it is all on him.
I am just tiny shifu

I stay tiny shifu

LoL!

Trust me, I never take myself too seriously. I'm an idiot, LoL.

But I do take seriously the Lord Jesus Christ, and with each passing year He dwells within me and manifests Himself through me a little more; in teaching, in gifts, in the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

So while you never take yourself as anything, you may very well come to take Christ within you some day as being a true Force to be reckoned with. Hence my picture.

Just keep growing in Him. In Him we are more than conquerors.

Something Charles Stanley said about the painting of Daniel in the Lion's Den, he wasn't looking towards the lions. He was looking towards God.

I try to keep that in mind. Reminds me of a cool Jesus praying hoodie I saw a woman wearing not too long ago that said, "Choose Faith Over Fear. "

Amen!

And if you want to know the truth, the closer you walk with the Lord and the more His Spirit abides within you, the more that choice just gets made for you, because scripture says He has not given us a Spirit of fear, but of love, power and a sound mind. You kinda start laughing in the enemy's face after awhile, cuz you no longer take him all that seriously anymore.

As for Daniel, that's one depiction of the incident.

Here's another:

I think about the lamp and this verse keeps coming to mind.

"Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples. Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love."
John 15:4‭-‬9 NASB1995
