Goodbye!

Hi everyone,

After returning from a wonderful retreat at my monastery, God has convicted my heart in several areas and it has lead me to a decision. After re-reading The Imitation of Christ, I have decided that God is more concerned with me spending my free time loving and serving others rather than posting on this board so I want to let everyone know that I enjoyed my time here and reading all your interesting posts, but I am going to be moving on.

I wish there was more harmony on Christian forums but I doubt it will ever happen. I find it interesting that as a member of several other non-christian forums (engineering , aviation, law enforcement etc) after a while you get to recognize who the "Christians" are by how they deal in public. I have made many great christian friends from secular forums.

Christian forums , unfortunately tend to be more like a keg of dynamite blowing everything up . Hard to rationalize.

Anyway , best wishes Aspen , I always enjoyed your posts and questions.

This is maybe the wrong place to ask it , but I will anyway :)

You say you have just spent some time at a monastery. , do you know much about Monks ?? I do not. But when I wonder where God will find 144,000 people in revelation that are virgins , never lied etc , the only thing I can figure is they must have to be living like Monks or something.

Any opinion ? thanks.

Hi Hammerstone,

My decision to move on has nothing to do with the atmosphere of the board. Overall, this board has been a positive in my life - I have appreciated many of the posts that people have written and when the language got heated, I still appreciated the intention. I have decided to volunteer with the homeless in my town and it is going to take up a good deal of my free time.

I too, will miss your input here @ CB, but I also understand the importance of relating face to face. God bless you and if He allows maybe you can come here from time to time and share some of your experiences.
