No worries my friend. You are not attacking or running me down. What amazes me is the attack you have on God calling us teachers, evangelist and yes pastors in scripture.
You mentioned you spent most of your life in construction. What would your business card say? How would your advertisement read? "I'm a guy that builds things", or maybe, "I know how to hammer a nail"?
more than likely the card or ad would say something like CONTRACTOR, or something along that line. Why? Because that is what you do.
To best serve my God, I must tell people what I do. Not out of ego, but because I am proud to say God chose a me, a once broken man to embrace His plan.
Let us say you (a contractor) me, (a pastor) together witness a homeless man sleeping on the street. Surely you could build him a beautiful home with your God given talents. In turn could help direct the man from his spiritual prison.

Face it, we all have titles... God indeed has task for us all.
I have to ask, have you even watched the messages I posted prior to sending your arrows?

The Thing is; God IS the Creator...
AND "MAKER".

God CREATED man with mans life...BLOOD.
God MADE man To receive Gods life...SOUL with Gods ... BREATH OF LIFE.

Every living man...ALREADY has...
The MIX...natural life, spiritual life .
Meaning, without excuse...the option of
Leaning on the natural or spiritual is already established.

THAT ^ "begins" the mans journey through his own stages of age, birth, childhood, growth, adulthood...
THE MAN...already has the "tools"...(natural life, spiritual life)....
It's like anything....which "tools" will a man choose to use.

Mans natural tendency...in anything...is to try different "tools" available to him, to accomplish a task...and wisdom is to "continue" using a "tool" that results in a desired favorable outcome.
And "insanity" is repeatedly using a "tool" that results in a undesired unfavorable outcome.

Glory to God,
Taken
Well said sir.

I'll have to watch this later Pastor Steven. Fixing to go in to work. :) Welcome to Christianity Board! I don't feel any less important with your name at all. We all have different gifts and assignments and pastor's deserve double honor for what they do, including the title. Romans 12 talks about spiritual gifts and we all play our part. And God defines our importance. Not a title. I do not believe this is what you are doing.

Excellent scripture on the heart. It is so important to ask God to examine our hearts and keep our will/emotions in check.

Thank you for the kind welcome. The only reason pastors are given the "title" is to let others know they are there to humbily serve. Which is precisely why I joined this platform.

Not to attack you or run you down as you might think but why would you tell us you have 1.5 million followers if it did not matter to you? Why would you insist on giving yourself a title if it were not stroking your ego?

Putting yourself forward with out a title would in no way hinder your witness to Jesus and your justifications for insisting on one do not speak well of you.

You might interpret this as running you down but no, you have this wrong. I’m drawing your attention to the principle the world loves.

Yipes man.

Hello PastorSteven; been going through the book of mark now for about a month and getting closer to Mark Chapter 7; which talks about the evil thoughts that come from our hearts in accordance to what Jesus says is there, and still believe it to be true. Thank God that the Lord Jesus Christ has paid for all of those sins; and that we can move away from them by faith and trusting God to help us through the temptations that come. It is hard not to give in.

Mark 7:
19 Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?

20 And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.

21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,

22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:

23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

I still mess up in some of these areas and am very thankful that even though do mess up God is still there to care, and provide what is needed in my life regardless of the times that are tread and slipped upon. Though it is difficult to not desire to give in; through living in faith and walking by the spirit will we not gratify the deeds of the flesh.

Galatians 5:16

I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

Matthew 26: 40 Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Couldn’t you men keep watch with me for one hour?” he asked Peter. 41 “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Ya I do not get into the whole humanity is dirty rags thing. God has to see some good in us.
God made us in His image, so even though we lost that, He never lost sight of it, and is restoring His image to us. Yeah our goodness is defiled rags to God, but He's not limited by us. He still intends for us to live with Him eternally, fully restored.

Much love!

I think what @quietthinker has more in mind is spiritual self promotion. I agree that this can be a questionable practice. I can tell you God has given me a "Prophetic Teaching Ministry", but what is the value? I point you to myself, and the reality is that if my teaching is from God, and the Holy Spirit is working through it to edify you, you will recognize my teaching, and it will edify. If it is not from God, or the Spirit is not working in you through it, my protestations "but I'm a prophetic teacher" will not cause my words to edify.

I don't make a judgment over whether you should or should not preface your name with "Pastor". I understand @Pearl 's comment, here we are more brothers and sisters. And many come through this forum who do self-promote, and we go on the see fruit inconsistent with their proclamation. Not to say I expect that from you, only that it's come to be a red flag.

As the Lord leads you so do. I'm more hoping to bring clarity.

And of course Paul made quite the deal of his apostleship at times, with particular effect in mind. I've made it a practice, I think of the Lord, to not put myself on display for others, unless the Spirit impresses me that there is a particular purpose to be accomplished.

Much love!

When you say "now", you are speaking of the unredeemed? Those in the flesh? The children of Adam?

Much love!
Very important question.
The natural condition of man: (1) his inherited legal standing in relation to the demands of God’s law—in other words, his natural guilt and condemnation, and (2) his inherited spiritual affections, inclinations, and abilities—in other words, his natural will.

The man born from the Adam. Original Humanity. Yes, a completely wicked and deceptive heart. Thank God for our new birth!!

That we can leave the First Man to be transfered into the Last Man! Created patterned after God, with righteousness and true holiness!

Much love!

I’m sorry Steven, your logic does not wash with me. What is most disturbing is your insistence of bearing a title as if it

Most disturbing is your insistance that a name specifically meaning a teacher of the Gospel needs to be irradicated. Similar to bibles in our schools... Oh yes, if you are a pastor that's bad bad bad. Take time, reflect on what you are stating. Listen to my most recent messages. If you feel they have no biblical value then simply press on.

- stating in name a person is a teacher of the gospel is bad?
Cmon ... Talk about logic.

How is it NOT God given? Who are you to know. Without even watching a full sermon, you make claims that I were not called by God?
I do not care what you think, or anyone else. I care only what He thinks. I annoint God, therefore He annoints me.
I am happy to have a pastor on board! Welcome Pastor Steven!
I remember struggling with what to call my pastor..Brother Stephens? Pastor? Reverand? Preacher?
I couldn't make myself say Pastor....it was always Brother So And So

You have distorted the intent and meaning of my post Steven. To reiterate, I am labouring your insistence and justification of a title.

Why not just call him Bob? No bells and whistles, no trumpets parading ahead, no pretentiousness..... and isn’t that what his mother called him!
