We live in a good cop / bad cop society.
Both sides of the political divide are trying to attract as many like minded people to bolster up their own authenticity of why that particular party should exist and rule.
Each side is given a set of rules, a set of objectives, a set of truths.
Both sides are controlled by public approval.
Both sides willingly submit to whatever ideas their particular party tells them to believe.
There is no independenat thought.
I watched this on tv, I heard this on the radio, he said/she said.. all day long.
Everything we have that is sealed with Authority of the government or the state, belongs to the the one with the authority of seals.
Birth certificates, Social Security Numbers, Driverse Licences, Property Deeds, Auto Registrations....
You become the property of the one who's sealed you.
This is not a free country. There are no free countries. All countries are governed by some set of rules created by an entity.
Whether it is the United Nations, the Banking system, the Education system. A countries own government is it's master, as long as the governed give their consent to the governor.
We all belong to Caesar in some form or fashion.
Unless you live on an unchartered island in the middle of the ocean that no one has laid claim to yet.
Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's.
Peter was asked whether he and Jesus paid tribute. Peter said yes.
I wondered what the next part meant for a long while, and I think I am beginning to understand it's meaning:
Mat 17:24 And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute
money came to Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay tribute?
Mat 17:25 He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers?
Mat 17:26 Peter saith unto him, Of strangers. Jesus saith unto him, Then are the children free.
The kings of the earth... take tribute (taxes) of strangers.
A lot of people gripe all the time how the rich don't pay their taxes.
They never will. They are part of the system that collect taxes from the ones who do not belong in their clique.
If you are not one of them, then you are a stranger. You are owned by them. They allow you to borrow money for your labour
which they require repayment of from groceries, to gasoline, to April 15th. And everything in between.
You own nothing.
Gal 4:28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
Gal 4:29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him
that was born after the Spirit, even so
it is now.
Gal 4:30 Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.
Gal 4:31 So then, brethren,
we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.
