breathed on…
Considering the word ‘breath’. What is breath? Is breath spirit as in: not the spirit that is of the world unto bondage again(wherein there is no life?)…but having received the Spirit (Breath)(Life?) which comes from God.

Just a few random thoughts which may not be connected but all the times in the OT
Jeremiah 10:14 Every man is brutish in his knowledge: every founder is confounded by the graven image: for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.

Consider Saul still “breathing” threats and murders against the disciples of the Lord:
Acts 9:1: Now Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest,

Acts 9:4: and he fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?"

And Jobs’ “my breath has become offensive to my wife” …how come “my breath is offensive” and “blessed are those not offended in Me.” ..is it that Job’s wife desires him to brush his teeth because his breath is rancid? Consider here with how offensive the Lord became to his own household?? “Will you go away also” And the passage concerning a sweet savour unto God but to those who perish …the savour of death. Unto one the savour of (breath)Life …to another the savour of death. Who is sufficient in all these things?
Job 19:17 Lexicon: "My breath is offensive to my wife, And I am loathsome to my own brothers.

Psalm 27:12-14 Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty. (It is not what goes into a man that corrupts, but that which comes out of the man?) [13] I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. [14] Wait on the Lord : be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

Isaiah 33:10-11 Now will I rise, saith the Lord ; now will I be exalted; now will I lift up myself. [11] Ye shall conceive chaff, ye shall bring forth stubble: your breath, as fire, shall devour you.

IF breath is spirit…then “your breath” as a fire, shall devour you. Sounds crazy but does walking in our own ways, our own thoughts, that spirit of the mind to lust, steal, kill and war to have but still have not …does it devour you?

1 Corinthians 2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit (Breath) which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

1 John 4:5-6 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. [6] We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit(Breath?) of truth, and the spirit of error.

Psalm 135:15-17 The idols of the heathen are silver and gold, the work of men's hands. [16] They have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they, but they see not; [17] They have ears, but they hear not; neither is there any breath in their mouths.

Galatians 3:2 This only would I learn of you, Received you the Spirit (Breath of God)by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

1 Peter 2:21-23 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: [22] Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: [23] Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:

God breathed life into Adam, gen 2:7 and we received this life from our fathers!

Christ breathed on the apostles our spiritual fathers, we receive the new covenant life of God’s grace from them thru faith & baptism! Jn 20:21-23 Mk 16:16 acts 8:36-38

Christian ritual of baptism:
Immersion, sprinkling, pour pure water over the forehead three time with the words, I baptize thee in the name of the father, and of the son, and of the Holy Spirit! Ez 36:25-27 Mk 16:16 Matt 28:19 Acts 2:38-39 Acts 8:36-38 Acts 22:16
1 Pet 3:21

Proper intention: to make a new creature in Christ, to put on Christ, initiation into the new covenant of grace
Matter: pure water
Form: the words

Born again! Born from above!

'The Father has set his seal' on Christ (John 6:27) and also seals us in him (cf. 2 Corinthians 1:22; Ephesians 1:23, 4:30). Because this seal indicates the indelible effect of the anointing with the Holy Spirit in the sacrament of Baptism,

Baptism indeed is the seal of eternal life." 87 The faithful Christian who has "kept the seal" until the end, remaining faithful to the demands of his Baptism, will be able to depart this life "marked with the sign of faith," 88 with his baptismal faith, in expectation of the blessed vision of God - the consummation of faith - and in the hope of resurrection.

St. Paul tells the faithful at Ephesus that they have been “sealed with the promised Holy Spirit.” This is in terms of an indelible character imprinted on the soul in the sacraments of baptism and confirmation. It is not as if this invisible mark is simply decorative. Rather, through it, we are enabled to participate in Christ’s mission and in his offices of priest, prophet, and king. Eph 1:13

Sealed by God eph 1:13 sealed by God (ez 36:25-27) in the ark of salvation by baptism just as Noah was sealed by God in the ark of the flood gen 7:16

1 Pet 3:20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us!
(Ark of Noah a type of the church, member of Christ and his church and salvation by baptism!)
(Outside the ark of Noah none were saved, outside the church (the ark of salvation) none are saved!)
