Otherwise, why would he have told the woman he kept from being stoned, "Go and sin no more..."
At the time the women was under the Jewish law of Moses
Does unaddressed sin in your life grieve the Holy Spirit? My sins of the flesh have been addressed by Jesus' blood
Does unadressed sin in your life put a barrier between you and God?[ No, because they have been addressed by Jesus
[Does unaddressed sin in your life interfere with hearing God's message/calling/communication? No, I am not under the law of sin.
Does unaddressed sin in your life make it more difficult to walk in the way God calls you to? No
Can unaddressed sin in your life ruin your witness to other Christians and the unsaved? If my witness is about me and how good I am then my witness is false.
Can unaddressed sin lead to other unaddressed sin and a falling away from Jesus? Not for the child of God born by the Holy Spirit
Are others hurt by your unaddressed sins of the flesh? No
Does God call you to do everything possible, including resisting the devil so he will flee you? The only thing that frees us from sins of the flesh is our faith in Jesus' work on the cross
Will God completely forgive you and restore you if you do not turn away from sin? That is the social moral gospel idea. There is no way a man/women can not commit sins of the flesh.
Will God let you into heaven if you have chronic unaddressed sin that you did not seek forgiveness for before you died?
1 Corinthians 6:11
11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.
NKJV
A done deal.
The blood of Jesus will wash your sins away.....unless you aren't serious about getting rid of those sins. I was, and am, serious about the Gospel of Grace.
Romans 7:1-6
Freed from the Law 7 Or do you not know, brethren (for I speak to those who know the law), that the law has dominion over a man as long as he lives?
2 For the woman who has a husband is bound by the law to her husband as long as he lives. But if the husband dies, she is released from the law of her husband.
3 So then if, while her husband lives, she marries another man, she will be called an adulteress; but if her husband dies, she is free from that law, so that she is no adulteress, though she has married another man.
4 Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you may be married to another — to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God.
5 For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were aroused by the law were at work in our members to bear fruit to death.
6 But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter.
NKJV
I am dead to the law but religious man wants to place me back under it. I refuse.
Romans 7:22-25
22 For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man.
23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
24 O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?
25 I thank God — through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.
NKJV
The religious see verse 24 as God stopping a person from commiting sins of the flesh.
But they ignore the last words of verse 25
The replies reveal those that have faith that Jesus' blood pays for their sins and those that do not.
