Yes.

They have no Life because they are being misinterpreted, but they are still the word of God. To those who interpret the same words properly, they have Life because the Spirit is breathing Life into them.

Same words, just a different Spirit interpreting and revealing them.
exactly TRUTH is TRUTH . just cause one dont understand it dont mean its not TRUTH .
The words in the bible are truth and Spirit inspired , GOD inspired . They are just alive today as they always have been .
The bible is not a dead letter . its just many who might be reading it , might still be dead and not alive unto Christ .
But the words themselves are alive , are truth . Any word God has spoken is life , truth and beautiful .
I cant believe what one person said , we need to be less dependant on scripture than on GOD .
WHO do we think INSPIRED Scripture . WE must be dependant ON GOD which includes HIS TRUTH in that lovely book .
That is all a part of being dependant on GOD . Folks are just tired of the bible , cause often things in it
convict them . Many had rather hear preachers that preach smooth things and make them promises that suit the flesh and carnal desires .

ahhhh, did anybody say anything clear around here? What about all our dissertations, our lengthy proclamations of self flattery, and our 'indisputable' knowledge.....you mean we have to ditch all that? :)
Unfortunately, while probably everyone would deny it, there seem to some who are more interested in winning a debate than in moving closer to God or in helping someone else move closer.

Did you know that by grace , on the first day God drew me , He put HIS desire in me . I prayed and truly desired to simply
know Him better . It was no coinicidence that he put a love of truth upon my heart and right into ONE BOOK . The bible .
What lovely pure and holy truth was found and the taste is as pure honey and so good for the soul .

praise GOD for that reminder . I just did , HE put the desire in my heart . Every word of HIS is as pure beauty
with a taste of the finest honey . Everything GOD speaks is Truth . And the scriptures HE inspired .
Let us love His every word . There is no such thing as loving GOD too much . ANYTHING HE INSPIRED is just pure lovely TRUTH .

I think the key word here is: lengthy.

That sure aint the message pual gave . I say more bible and stay refreshed in it all the time . We got us
many men in pulpits , many sensual seducing spirits at work . Stay planted in the bible . Learn it and love it .
GOD inspired it , WE should LOVE the TRUTH . IF we have the SPIRIT we would love the truth .
If the purpose of the Bible isn't to help us find God, what is it?

Well, the purpose of the Bible is to help us to get to know the Lord better, so I'd say we should stay planted in the Lord, once we get there.
thus stay planted in those teachings . by the grace of our glorious Lord i have loved reading that bible every days for years .
Stay in it and do so daily and often . Every word is lovely and its a good way to keep all stirred up by pure remembrance .

Some people read the Bible over and over again, never getting to know the Lord. I'll assume you are not one of those people.

Just bask in the beauty of the bible and read and love it . We have many men who have and are growing weary of it and fast falling away
to other sensual teachings . The bible has become as stale bread to their taste and the taste of fables has grown on many .
But praise be to GOD for what HE puts into a lambs heart and that lamb hungers only for that which is true . Its a feasting on the pages
of the bible and that feast never grows old to a lamb . Now feast on and do beware of men , specially in these days and in that late , ever so late hour we are in .

And when do you say a person has "gotten there"? Increasingly knowing the Lord and His ways is a process, and comes by growing in the knowledge of His word. Contrary to the theology of some, it is NOT a matter of simply "staying planted," Bob. It is a matter of growing.

We don't just arrive at a place where we have "gotten there" spiritually. That teaching is highly unBiblical IMO.

I see people who become obsessed with the Bible, never getting to know the Lord. I would hope that doesn't happen here.

Bob, I understand what you are saying, but look around the forum right now and tell me what you see. I could point to three separate threads right now where people are claiming to "know God," and yet the things they are teaching practically trash the Bible and throw it in the garbage can. One is saying the Lord endorses pedophilia, and that stealing a dozen wives away from married men and practicing adultery with them and bearing children of his own by them is perfectly fine in God's sight. This is the consequence of discarding the apostle's teaching (which he is openly avowing, saying He follows "Jesus" instead), and unfortunately it is much the same thing you are doing in essence here, whether you realize it or not.

I don't see much going on of what you are talking about. I see a ton of what I am.

The fact that someone might claim to know the Lord, when he doesn't, doesn't change the fact that the purpose of the Bible is to help us get go know the Lord.

But we need to keep things simple enough to understand. The Lord gave us a few commandments to follow. If we follow them, I think we find heaven.

Nobody gets saved by “ Commandment Keeping”...... those 613 commandments were given to show that you don’t and can’t keep them ....( “ By The Works Of The Law, NO MAN shall be Justified”) .....Salvation is 100% Grace, freely given to this that believe and rest in Paul’s Gospel ( given to Him by Jesus personally) .....the song has it right—- “ NOTHING but the Blood”...... you had better believe it.....
