Okay, now you've piqued my curiosity and I'll have to check this out.
Been reading the 1560 Geneva.

For anyone who wants it, here's a link.
The Geneva Bible 1560 : God : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive

The Geneva was 51 years before the KJV and seems to be more descriptive in context. For example, 1 Cor 14 , instead of "tongues " you see "diverse tongue" or "strange tongue" or just flat out "languages."
I just saved it to my favorites, will have to check it out.. Thank you!

the english language in itself is flawed. to try to make a word for word translation from hebrew/greek to english is impossible.

not so much that it is flawed, but the Greek said more with tenses, moods voice, case etc, than we do. We need to use many words to fully depict many many Greek words. also, as we are 2,000 years removed from the writing, too many people have lost how the original writers used and understood the words they were inspired to write.

God bless you guys! that ancient olde English is too much for me

(One of my favorite verses)

To the Romaines chap. VIII.

38. For I am perfuaded that nether death, nor life, nor Angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things prefent, nor things to come,

39. Nor height, nor depth, nor anie other creature fhalbe able to separate vs from the loue of God, which is in Chrift Iefus our Lord."

Once you get that internal S's look like fs, some inconsistent usage of v and u, and some weird spellings, it's readable.

Mankind was made in Genesis 1, Adam was made in Genesis 2. God sent Adam with the purpose of him falling in order to make man(kind) in His image. Only when His creation is complete at Jesus' return will that finally be accomplished. God's plan is amazing!
Adam is mankind.

Chapter 2 is a reiteration of Chapter 1.

God detailed it for us in 2.

Have you ever read the very front of your modern bibles where it tells you about the translators?
No, I know they are a mess by the redefined Greek words they use.

They should be anonymous for shame.

More is understood these days about the original texts and this is taken into account by those who translate the bible into so many different languages today.
Wrong.

The farther we get from history, the less we know.

That is exactly why the "Greek" word ALSO means this and this and this....

They keep redefining the text as if they lived 2000 years ago.

Really? I quote the NIV from memory all the time, because it's the version I've been using for 40+ years.
Can you quote it verbatim while teaching as KJV teachers do?

I trow not!

That's true, and I was joking about the 1611 version. But Ricky heard the Word of God through the NIV. I was there and I could tell.
That's fine.

God can use a cartoon Bible too.

Just don't teach adults with it as if it was God's pure word.

Wrong.

The farther we get from history, the less we know.

Wrong. Knowledge does not necessarily progress linearly.

The Dead Sea scrolls were discovered in the 20th century. Ditto to Archmedes calculus. The Rosetta Stone in the 19th century.

While we lost the formula for Roman cement, far more durable than modern cement, you must concede it could be discovered in the future, thereby, increasing our knowledge of history as time goes on.

It’s odd double standards you have, AS IF it doesn’t apply EQUALLY to other English translations.
God set up His word for us in 1611.

God's word does not go like this......Thus saith the Lord, I mean this, and this...and also I can mean this.

Save that stuff for the Preterists.
