Old Testament law

The key to understanding this issue is knowing that the Old Testament law was given to the Nation of Israel,
not to Christians as there were none at the time.

Some of the laws were to reveal to the Israelites how to obey and please God (the Ten Commandments, for example).
Some of the laws were to show the Israelites how to worship God and atone for sin (the sacrificial system). Some of the laws were intended to make the Israelites distinct from other nations (the food and clothing rules).
None of the Old Testament law is binding on us today.
When Jesus died on the cross, He put an end to the Old Testament law for us.(
Romans 10:4; Galatians 3:23-25; Ephesians 2:15 ).

In place of the Old Testament law, we are under the law of Christ (
Galatians 6:2 ), which is to "love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind…and to love your neighbor as yourself" ( Matthew 22:37-39 ).

If we obey those two commands, we will be fulfilling all that Christ requires of us: "All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments"
Matthew 22:40.

Now, this does not mean the Old Testament law is irrelevant today. Many of the commands in the Old Testament law fall into the categories of "loving God" and "loving your neighbor."
The Old Testament law can be a good guidepost for knowing how to love God and knowing what goes into loving your neighbor.
The Old Testament law is a unit
James 2:10. Either all of it applies, or none of it applies.
If Christ fulfilled some of it, such as the sacrificial system, He fulfilled all of it.

Now what this doesnt mean is that the Law was bad ....in fact it was perfect. ...It means God knew quite well Christ would end the Law for the Christian not Judah

Psalms 19:7
The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul. The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple.

So what does it mean the we were delivered from the curse of the Law?

The law was perfect it was of God men are not perfect therefore they can not live by the law ,,because if you break one you break them all.

To say Gods Law wasnt perfect is to say Christ then isnt perfect because he didnt come to change one dot of the Law but to fulfill it ,,, He has become the Law

Romans 7:7 What then shall we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. For I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, "You shall not covet

It is not a sin to live under the Law as Judah does ..it just will not save one and if one lives under the law they are judged by it.
Gal 3:24 So then,
the law was our guardian until Christ came, in order that we might be justified by faith.

Judah is still under this guardian of law as God has placed them there during the times of the gentile to preserve his perfect Law. The God of the Old testament is no differnt than the God of the New testament ..

Judah follows the God of the Old testament and his Law
he is the same God same holy Law .
God will bring them to see and accept his grace by faith in Christ before the end.
And thats exactly what scripture says ..

In fact had the Jews, Christ own peoples fully accepted Christ at his first coming this age would have ended then.....before gentiles could ever be grafted in.
It was a mystery that is now revealed. It is obviously the plan of God to receive them back in mercy: I say, then, hath God cast away His people? God forbid?" (
Romans 11:1 )
God did not intend for the Jews to know his plan until "the fullness of the gentiles comes in." (
Romans 11:25 )

So for those who think they have a right to judge Judah for following the Law of God himself.
The guardian until he brings them to Christ in his own time under his plan.
I say then you judge Gods wisdom as that was his plan from the begining, so that the gentile might be saved.
The time of the gentile will soon end and God will turn his attention back to those he left under the Law.
He has never forgotten them. They under his guardian the Law till an appointed time

Psa 119:34 Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law; yea, I shall observe it with [my] whole heart.

Psa 119:44 So shall I keep thy law continually for ever and ever.

Hi avoice!

We are so blessed that we live in this time [post- Christ on the cross]. I am looking forward to the day when my dear brethren are freed from the veil that separates them from Jesus...

2 Corinthians 5:13-15 ...one day we will rejoice together, once the veil is removed, in Christ...and ohh what a joyous day that will be...

Minus the ordinances Christ fulfilled on His cross (2 Col.2; Eph.2), the rest of God's law is still applicable even for Christ's Church today, based on a CERTAIN CONDITION that Paul taught...

Gal 5:14-25
14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; 'Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.'
15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.
16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
(KJV)

The love thy neighbor as thyself quote is from Lev.19.

ONLY IF we walk by The Spirit, are we no longer under God's law. That is the certain condition Paul declared, and is New Testament Doctrine for all of Christ's Church. Paul even explained WHY we would not be under God's law IF we walk by The Spirit. It's because by doing the fruits of the Spirit, "against such there is no law". That is the same declaration Paul made in the following...

1 Tim 1:9-11
9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;
11 According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.
(KJV)

Apostle Paul is making that a New Testament doctrine about God's law. It still applies very much to Christ's Body today, even for believing Gentiles, IF we go back to walking by our flesh.

The very reason why our Christian society is breaking down today is because of false prophets that want to remove God's laws away from His people. I don't mean unbelieving Judah when I say that either, I mean Christ's Church.

The law structure that was setup in the Christian nations at their beginning came from God's law in His Word. It's main PURPOSE was to protect our freedoms and liberty in Christ's Jesus to love our neighbor as our self. Remove it, and all chaos reigns in its place. The righteous must have a law to protect them from the unrighteous, which is what God's law is for, even today.

Some preachers in the pulpits constantly try to infer that all of God's law is now dead among followers of Christ, His Church, and they stop right there not declaring how or why, omitting the SPECIFIC CONDITION Apostle Paul taught for that to hold true. Those are wolves in sheep's clothing doing that, hoping that Christ's Body will think that means we can do whatever we want and not have to suffer the consequences of God's law governing fleshy works, works of iniquity.

The wolves in sheep's clothing well know they will gain more 'barley' (money) by telling a lie to Christ's Body that they are no longer under God's law regardless of the condition. It's one of those 'smooth things' by false prophets that God warned us about through His prophet Isaiah.

Jesus fulfilled all of the requirements of the Scriptures and by so doing qualifies as the eternal Messiah. He, Himself declared that He did not come to destroy the teachings of Scripture. He also indicated that anyone who wanted to remove parts of the validity of the Scriptures was not part of the kingdom. I have a real problem accepting that He changed His mind at any point. For that reason I can only conclude that the purpose of the teachings of the OT have been misunderstood by the people who want to invalidate or remove it from Christian living.
