@Mink57 FYI.....thread I started....
Seriously, farouk? We'll be here all day, lol!

I don't really have a 'favorite' Psalm. I adore the WHOLE book! But I DO have a 'story' I can relate to you...

I noticed that you started this thread with Psalm 23.

My dad passed away in 2004. I had laminated bookmarks printed out for those who attended his memorial service. The bookmark was a picture of a Cypress tree with the words, "The Lord is my shepherd..." I also purchased some red carnations, and placed them on a podium.

At the end of the service, I took one of the carnations and brought it home with me. I wanted to have it 'dried'. I took my Bible and the carnation while thinking, "O.k., dad. I'm going to put this carnation somewhere inside the Bible. So, every I open the Bible, and turn to the page where this carnation is, I'll think of you...and pray for you..."

I closed my eyes...flipped to a page...and put the carnation in the book (you already KNOW where I'm going with this!)

So, while many of the Psalms resonate with me, depending on my situation at the time, Psalm 23 will always remain near and dear to my heart.

Thanks, @Mink57 and I love how the Good Shepherd passage in John 10 ties in with Psalm 23.

Also, Hebrews 13.20-21:

"Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen."

Yes, Jesus was our Great High Priest, touched with the feeling of our infirmities. Everything we've ever felt, He has felt. He took the cup. He even experienced rejection and the absence of His Father's presence.

Matthew 27:45-46
[45]Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.
[46]And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice
, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
