The source of truth is God and He has revealed the truth of Himself in His Word the Scriptures, especially in Christ Jesus.

How do you know the truth?…

Matthew 11:27 ESV
[27] All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.

I agree fear of a son for his father
REVERENCE!

Fear is not the same as reverence. Fear (verb): be afraid of (someone or something) as likely to be dangerous, painful, or threatening. Revere (verb): regard or treat with deep respect.

Jesus said we should regard God as our "abba", an Aramaic word meaning "daddy". Read the parable of the prodigal son. He was afraid of his father, yet his father welcomed him with joy. That is how you misinterpret God. I feel sorry for you!

Source of truth for all men is...Jesus, ie THE Truth.

Freewill. Trust Jesus IS THE TRUTH, or not.

@prism

Jesus surely is central but then the question becomes 'which Jesus'?

(2Co 11:4) For if one comes and preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted, this you tolerate very well!

Only One Time has God scared me. I shudder at the memory of it. I thought I was about to be smited on the spot and i had no idea why, and then i felt a reassuring/peaceful feeling and a audible voice gifted me wings. I remember that terrifying feeling well......but the memory puts a smile on my face. Ever since then the spirit has gave me wonderful feelings. That first inital meeting though was something else. Definitely puts "fear of the lord" into perspective for me. *oooooohhh shudders again*****

An other “Jesus”, (not preached).
An other “Jesus”, who is likened to the historical Pharisee, “Do as I say, Not as I Do”.
...Examples are a plenty;
* Other Jesus: Pharisee, Govt’s heads, Law Makers, Human Masters.
Elevated, Walls, Arm Guarded, Bunkers, Demand, Dictate, etc.
* People:
Acknowledge their only purpose is to Serve their “human” pseudo master, at all costs of; their peace, well-being, comfort, lives.
*People’s Reward:
Promises of “peace and safety”....in Reality; Safety for THEM;
War & Death for the PEOPLE.
Scraps, Metal & Ribbon Trinkets, Chaos, Fear, Permanent Death.
(BTW, the Scraps...are derived from What the Masters have stolen (by compulsion) from the People, Kept what they WANTED, and dole out the “left overs they did not WANT’, to their “pseudo servants”.)

John 14:12
[12] Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
[13] Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.
[14] If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet.
[15] For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.

Inanutshell...Jesus, the True Master of People, IS the Servant of People, By, Through, Of What He IS, What IS His, IS also His Peoples.

An Other Jesus, Serves himself, at the cost of forced compelled oppression of the People.

what is the source of truth for Christians?
According to the Catholic Church, "Holy Tradition" is on a par with Scripture. But that is not so, since the only source of God's truth is the Word of God (the Holy Bible). Also the apocryphal books in Catholic bibles are not inspired, yet they have been scrambled with other OT books in the Latin Vulgate and in the Douay-Rheims version. So you need a King James Bible.
how do we know the truth?
God the Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth.
