So now she can become PM, right?

No, she cannot, she would have to run for the Lower House to do so.

Funnily enough, Kristina Kennealy tried to go from being a Labor Senator to running for the lower house this election, but she lost in her electorate to an independent, maybe she was eyeing Albo's job lolz.

Congrats Australia for your new Prime minister. Don't know what that would mean for you all but I'm kinda glad that Morrison is out. Jm2c :)

Well, actually, I believe that all Australians lost the election because most of the decisions made were based on the negative press and advertising and any decision made on a "lie" is not good for any country.

When I went to vote, I asked a labour party believer handing out the Labour Party how to vote cards, "Who was responsible for our governance?", she came back with "Scott Morrison could not be trusted with Government." I politely informed her that she had not answered my question and had side tracked the conversation to the negative politicking of the Labour Party who tells us that they want everybody to have a fair go except for Morrison.

I pointed out to her that our governance was not the responsibility of the elected government but actually rested with each and every person living in Australia.

Words within the political spectrum have no meaning at all except for the politicians who use them to get re-elected by whatever means that they have at their disposal and when elected, their promises become meaningless.

As they say, this election was more a referendum on Scott Morrison, and Labor only got 32.8% of the first preference vote, one of the lowest winning first preference percentages in history.

I wonder who will be opposition leader now, they say Peter Dutton is the front runner, but perhaps they should give it to someone like Dan Tehan who was the Minister for trade, tourism and investment, he should at least have half an idea I reckon on how to run a country, and put Scomo as shadow treasurer.

The problem with Peter Dutton, even though he is strong, he is not too popular outside of his electorate with the Australian people and I don't see him winning in 3 years time, or give the position to one of the country boy Nats or perhaps even give the leadership to a woman.

Yep have had a click through the results, most of the largest regional seats by landmass in VIC, NSW, QLD and even in SA, went to Liberals, Nationals, Liberal Nationals or Katter in West QLD, and even the Pilbara North Western Australia and Wheatbelt and along the South Coast to SA Border in WA went to Liberals, in Tassie Brandon (NW and Western Tas was won by Libs), Bass also likely to be won by Libs (NE Tassie) and Lyons mainly Central and Eastern Tassie is a tight race with only 800 votes separating Labor's lead on Liberals.

Proof that regional Aussies vote pretty differently to city folks.
When I came to the big city I found that people here were lazy or had jobs were it do not mater to much if they were good or not so much as it was in small towns.
In small towns especially with tradesman who run a business, the bad ones did not last long, but bad tradesman in the big city's are everywhere, shockingly so !
A Builder mate said that he would like to move to were I came from ? and I said You would not last 3 months there mate, you can not get away with the games he played with people in the city at all. but nowadays the bad trades are everywhere.

But as for the Voting being less Socialist in outer city's I think it's more to do with such people know that they have to pull their socks up to survive.

I came from the city and then moved out the sticks when 9yo and first day when you first turn up, you will only get punched first directly but in the city that is a hand shake greeting. It was that way back then, not so much nowadays, the town is a small city now and back in the days everyone knew everyone. so if they did not know you they knew you did not belong. haha, idiots !
