I put a member on ignore and was thinking about checking their posts so I went to un-ignore them and it says can't find user. I don't see any of their threads and no posts. It's as if they disappeared. Is that normal for the ignore feature?

I put some other people on ignore some time ago and it would just say "Can't view this post, you have them on ignore".

Problem with putting people on ignore is that you can't see what they're saying about you behind your back..:)
Personally I never put anybody on ignore because it's much more fun straightening them out in discussions.

Yes, but those footsteps you keep hearing need to be addressed.

You can't keep ignoring those.

There is documented evidence that it'll just keep getting worse and worse if you don't deal with it.

What footsteps? if you mean trolls, I've been putting them in their place in forums for 20 years and enjoying every minute of it..:)

The very footsteps you claimed were a sign of "The Arrival".

And it doesn't count when you're being paid for it.

I used to think that way too. But lately I've noticed a few members that do what I would say is "Harass" members here. Instead of dealing with harassment by reporting it I just put people on ignore.

I noticed that I couldn't get into any discussions in the debate area without getting harassed by certain members. I was getting attacked every time I left the fellowship areas to enter a normal discussion. And that is just not acceptable for a Christian forum. True Christians behave differently. And I don't really want to have discussions with people that get on the internet to attack others. And there are just so many people that do that.

The only people I put on ignore are people who make character attacks on other members. In my opinion they are trolls.

If you were truly being harassed by anybody, the Mods would do something about it.

They allow most heated debates to work themselves out, in the interest of quality discussion, but they don't allow harassment.

I've reported harassers before and they have been banned. It's really the Character attacks that I'm sick of. And what I consider harassment the forum moderators may not. I'm no longer willing to deal with some people.

Behold is a fair example.

"False Arrival" is a fairly common fascinating thing, some call it a supernatural phenomenon but I think it's just our tired minds playing tricks on us.
Most people only experience it once (as I did some 30 years ago) and I dunno what you mean by "being paid".?

Some shills are paid quite well and some call them trolls.

I've never heard of this.

So, people hallucinate the sound of footsteps behind them and believe it's the Pre-Trib Rapture or that Jesus has secretly returned to them alone or ..... what?

And you admit to having this experience?

Google 'False Arrival' and you'd be surprised at the amount of people who've experienced it but they don't believe it's in any way necessarily biblical and neither do I..:)
The common denominator is that they were very tired at the time, so it's probably just the mind playing tricks.

Thanks for the ignore feature. I'm finding it can alleviate constant problems here. Cheers!

Is there a way to ignore threads? For example, I would like to ignore all threads that contain a certain word in their title.
I don't know what word you are thinking of but there are many threads that I would like not to be able to see although I suppose we can ignore them by just not opening them.
