Better off spiritually without the news lately

I have been steering clear of the news lately since Ukraine caused me so much turmoil and I got to say I am feeling better spiritually. Let's face it the news is full of vicious gossip and reports on the cruelty of others. There is a lot of negativity in the news as well on mainly reporting on the rich and famous. I honestly feel better now.

I do check out the weather websites and get some news from there. And sometimes it's death and destruction. But it's not people killing and hurting other people and there's no gossip mingled with news on only the rich and famous.

I don't know if you are referring to TV news shows . . .

I used to watch the TV news every day, sometimes watching one show, then switching to the next, every night. When they went to digital signal, my wife and I decided to let it go away, and we did.

After about 2 weeks, I found I was a generally happier person. And after about 2 months, I realized my world view had shifted. TV News is a poison pill in my opinion.

All depends on your expectations and purposes in watching it. I agree with most of the sentiments expressed in this thread to some extent, but I've also reached a place more recently where the lies don't effect me as much like they once did, and because I like to keep up with world events with so many things starting to happen prophetically, I'm actually watching a lot more of it since the start of the war. But I have spiritual reasons for doing so. I truly don't advise it for most. I had a friend I was working with who kept up with things religiously, and he was SO negative that I truly felt sorry for his wife (who also worked with us). Absolutely everything out of his mouth was negative, all the time, 24/7, and that's no way to live. The fruit of the Spirit is Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, etc. If it was effecting me like that I wouldn't be watching it either, so it all depends on what your purpose is in doing so and how much endurance you have built up for sifting through the falsehoods.

Granted, if Barak Obama was still President I wouldn't be able to stomach even 10 seconds of it. Utterly and absolutely DESPISED the man with a fierce passion, so we all have our limits.

I have family that is really negative about it so that you don't want to talk to them about news. It's not pleasant.

They don't report on wars or brutality, murders, rich and famous. And it was the war that bothered me so much. They kept pushing for war with Russia in their propaganda with the public support promotion of the war. I became worried about nuclear war. And I have researched nuclear weapons and the type of death that would come from such a war. I decided it would be best if I wasn't aware when the nuclear attack would be. I found myself anticipating to be nuked day and night and couldn't sleep well. I then realized it was fear propaganda from the news and how they were encouraging Biden to engage in war with Russia over the Ukraine. I just couldn't live in uncertainty of being nuked any more. And it truly helped to just shut it off and give it all to God.

I stay up with the headlines. And I'll read the articles sometimes, often just to skim read.

The devil manipulates the children of disobedience to do his bidding, and does anyone think that TV and Movies aren't terribly high on Satan's list of what to control, and what to use against us?

Do we really want to put ourselves front and center every day immersing ourselves into the manipulative and deceptive medium being used by Satan to subvert and pervert the world? There are so many methods of deceit employed.

I challenge anyone who thinks otherwise to do the 2 month test, or maybe 3, depending on who you are. Just see if you ever want to go back!

As I was trying to tell everyone when it started, there won't be a nuclear war. The Lord holds everything in His hands, and it isn't what those who instigated it want anyway. They wanted a long, drawn out conventional war that would drain the US and the West of their money while eventually bringing the entire planet into financial bondage and upheaval along with them. That's where things have gone, and that's where things will continue to go. The globalists don't want a nuclear war any more than you do, so I wouldn't worry about all that. It's all just fear-mongering.

Yes it's been a month or two or three, can't really remember, since I checked out the news. I feel more secure. And if it's important news like the Satanists threatening churches, I can always get that report from @Hidden In Him or other people on these forums

Yes that was my concern as well. Putin kept talking nuclear. I just shut it off. I live near to a military base. And I checked the distance and kill ratio from that size of nuclear weapon and it didn't look good. I have studied physics for the past 6.5 years so I know a little about it.

Not to mention some of the Bible prophecies which seem that they could be fulfilled in a nuclear attack. I studied Nuclear Chemistry in school, yeah, it's not a pretty thing!

I do prefer to have only the voice of trust in my mind, and not counterpoint it with the constant worldly babblings of worry and fear, which only feed the flesh.

That's the thing, I think, so very much of Television is geared towards feeding and inciting our flesh.
