GOD’S PLAN OF SALVATION
The Old Testament Passover pointed to Christ
Leviticus 23: 5 – On the fourteenth day of the first month at twilight is the Lord’s Passover.
Exodus 12: 3,5,7 – “Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying: ‘On the tenth day of this month every man shall take for himself a lamb, according to the house of his father, a lamb for a household. ‘Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year. You may take it from the sheep or from the goats. ‘And they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses where they eat it.
Christ is our Passover
I Corinthians 5:7 – Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover was sacrificed for us.
Matthew 26: 26 – And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed it and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, “Take. Eat, this is My body.
The blood of Christ is what saves His people from sin and Satan, just as the blood saved Israel from the destroyer
Exodus 12:7 – ‘And they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses where they eat it.’
Matthew 26: 27 28 – Then He took the cup, and gave thanks; and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. “For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins
The Feast of Unleavened Bread -The Israelites were to remove leaven from themselves
Leviticus 23: 5 – And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the Feast of Unleavened Bread to the Lord; seven days you must eat unleavened bread.
Christians are to remove sin (spiritual leaven) from themselves
I Corinthians 5: 8 – Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
The sheaf of the fristfruits symbolized Christ being accepted as sacrifice for His people
Leviticus 23: 9 -11 – And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them; ‘When come into the land which I give to you, and reap its harvest, then you shall bring a sheaf of the fristfruits of your harvest to the priest. He shall wave the sheaf before the Lord, to be accepted on your behalf; on the day after the Sabbath, the priest shall wave it.
Jesus just after His resurrection wanted to first go to His Father to be accepted before anyone touched Him
John 20:17-18 (Darby)
[sup]17 [/sup]Jesus says to her, Touch me not, for I have not yet ascended to my Father; but go to my brethren and say to them, I ascend to my Father and your Father, and [to] my God and your God.
[sup]18 [/sup]Mary of Magdala comes bringing word to the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and [that] he had said these things to her.
Christ is accepted and is the first of the first fruits of those who will be glorified
I Corinthians 15: 20 – Now Christ is risen from the dead and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.
Pentecost is the first of the harvest – It pictures the starting of the Church of God of whom are the first of those that God is calling
Leviticus 23: 15,17 – And you shall count for yourselves from the day after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering: seven Sabbaths shall be completed. ‘You shall bring from your habitations two waves loaves of two-tenths of an ephah. They shall be of fine flour; they shall be baked with leaven. They are the firstfruits to the Lord.
The Church was founded on the day of Pentecost
Acts 2: 1 – Now when the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
The Feast of Trumpets represents the return of Christ and the establishment of the Kingdom of God
Leviticus 23: 23 – Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the children of Israel, saying; in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a sabbath-rest, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation.
The return of Christ…
Mathew 24: 29-31 – Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heaven will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of man will appear in the heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will morn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
a time of great joy and celebration for God’s people
Matthew 26: 29 – “But I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father’s kingdom.”
Luke 22: 15-16 – Then He said to them, “With fervent desire I have to eat this Passover with you before I suffer; for I say to you I will no longer eat of it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.”
The day of – Atonement (At-one-ment) mankind is now at one with God
Leviticus 23: 26 -27 – And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying; “Also the tenth day of this month shall be the Day of Atonement. It shall be a holy convocation for you; you shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord.
The Feast of Tabernacles pictures the time during the 1,000 year rule of Christ and the now glorified saints…
Leviticus 23: 33 -34 – Then theLord spoke to Moses, saying; “Speak to the children of Israel, saying the fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the Feast of Tabernacles for seven days to the Lord.
A time of great prosperity joy and happiness for all nations
Micah 4: 1- 4, 6 - 7
Psalms 22:27-29 – All the ends of the world shall remember and turn to the Lord, and all families of the nations shall worship before You. For the kingdom is the Lord’s and He rules over the nations. All the prosperous of the earth shall eat and worship; all thosewho go down to the dust shall bow before Him, even he who cannot keep himself alive.
Even the nature of the animals will be changed
Isaiah 11: 6-9
The eight-day of the Feast is called in the New Testament…
Leviticus 23: 36 – For seven days you shall offer an offering made by fire to the Lord. On the eight day you shall have a holy convocation, and you shall offer an offering made by fire to the Lord. It is a sacred assembly, and you shall do no customary work on it.
the Last Great day of The Feast
John 7:37 – On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirst, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the scripture had said, out of his heart, will flow rivers of living water.”
*Jesus was prophesying about those who will be resurrected after the millennium
Revelation 20:4-5 - And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgement was committed to them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the Word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or it’s images, and not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
Ezekiel 37:1-14
Matthew 12:41-42
Then comes the end…
Revelation 20: 14-15, 21:1 – Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire. And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea.
Zephaniah 1: 2-3“I will utterly consume all things from the face of the land”, says the Lord; “I will consume man and beast; I will consume the birds of the heaven, the fish of the sea, and the stumbling blocks along with the wicked. I will cut off man from the face of the land”. Says the Lord.
1Corinthians 15: 24 – Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power.
which is really the beginning
Isaiah 65: 17 “ For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; and the former shall not be remembered or come to mind.
2 Peter 3: 13 – Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.

His blood does indeed save us out of the world, as it did the Israelites out of Egypt. But that is only the beginning. I am saying this not against what you said, as I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but I'm saying it as a comment. :)

We must not forget that we were cleansed from our old sins by the blood, but we must add to our faith the character of Christ, so that we wouldn't stumble.

My reason for doing that study and posting it was only to show that God has His plan on how He will go about saving humanity. This is shown in the Holy Days that God gave the Israelites to observe.

Once again, a thought I had on this subject, something I think we need to keep in mind.

The call of Christ to those who know him now is not only to life, but to glory. We are called to rule and rign with him, but for this we must overcome. Thus we receive a new nature by which we can overcome.

The modern misunderstanding and misconception is that God simply wishes to 'save us', merely in the sense of saving a man from drowning, and it ends there. But God wishes far more, he desires that we be transformed into his image, and that our character would be as his. We are called to glory!

Those who do right and love their neighbour will receive life in Christ, those who become saints will share in the glory of the Lord.

That is correct.

Christians should understand that God's plan of salvation is not limited to Jesus’ death and resurrection. There are parts of God's plan laid out in the High Holy Days that the Children of Israel were commanded to keep most Christians fears about fate of their dead loved ones that did not repent will disappear when they understand this.....the truth will set them free.
