Dear Prentis (& Co)

I suggest you read this very carefully.

A most wonderful concept, is how a new man can be formed, that the natural mind can be transformed into a Spirit mind, a mind attuned to God's mind and ways.

The reality of this idea is expressed in several similar expressions in the scriptures, all of them having the basic idea that the 'new man' is begotten of God.

The question facing you today is how is that man begotten? likewise how was Christ begotten?

1. Born of God: "As many as received him, to them he gave power to become sons of God, even them that believe on his name (Word): which were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God" (John 1:12-13).

2. The Father begat us by the word of truth: "Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth . . . receive with meekness the engrafted word which is able to save your souls" (James 1:18,19,20,21).

3. Quickened by the spirit — the word: "It is the spirit (word) that quickeneth: the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life" (John 6:63).

4. God's seed (Word) remaineth in him: "Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his (God's) seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God" (1 John 3:9).

5. Born of incorruptible seed: "Being born again (from above), not of corruptible seed but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

All five passages declare that the spiritual life in us has come from God:

God begat us, His seed is in us, He quickened us, we are born of God. This is a wonderful thing to behold, which we should continually ponder through the Word.

Absolutely, it is God's spirit who gives life. :)

Read it again and try and make the connection.

It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The word(s) that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.

Where are those word(s) recorded Prentis?

And who gave Jesus these words? Heb 1:1,2,3

Jesus spoke those words, and said that they were spirit and life. Once again, we cannot avoid the obvious conclusion. Do all people who read the Bible become the sons of God?

No. And so the power is not in ink on paper, but in the Spirit. The spirit could use something we read in the Bible, or something a man of God says, as it was with Jesus, the prophets, etc, to quicken our Spirit.

Either way, the life comes from God. :)

The incorruptible seed (Word of God) is lost on you because you cant get past ink on a page.

I am either a poor teacher or you are unteachable.

Forget ink on a page! Why do you persist with this foolish taunt?

James 1:18 applies to some who understand the Scriptures...but to those who teach they are simply just words on a page - well how can you be born of God?

You cannot.

Absolutely, it is God's Spirit (Word) gives life. :)

The Spirit and the letter is not the same, otherwise Paul would not show their difference. It is the Spirit who gives life, NOT the letter.

Also, the kingdom is NOT in word, but in power. Once again, it is by the Spirit.
