I don't know why your sin nature has not been removed and you are still honestly comparing yourself with Jesus and coming up short.

this is you claiming to be equal to God?

and i'm supposed to be so impressed that i also desire to take His throne?

Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on,
that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.

(Philippians 3:12)

This has nothing to do with sin, but immaturity in the fruit of the Spirit. We are first made free from sin on day ONE, but for the rest of our life to become perfect we master the steps of 2 Peter 1:5-7. Try it.

Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.
The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself,
‘God, I thank You that I am not like other men — extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.’
And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying,
‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’
I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other;
for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.

can you show me that command in scripture?
or are you repeating human tradition?

Luke 11:
9 “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 11 If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? 12 Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? 13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!

Acts 1:8
8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Acts 2:38
38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 8:8-9
8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.

Romans 1:16
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel f Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

When you believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit
(Ephesians 1:13)

Here again, you and I have a different view of believe. This verse won't be said to me: Matthew 7:21-23.

21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

This has nothing to do with sin, but immaturity in the fruit of the Spirit.

nonsense. utterly untenable wishful thinking.
and you boast, calling yourself a teacher?

read the context:

Further, my brothers and sisters, rejoice in the Lord! It is no trouble for me to write the same things to you again, and it is a safeguard for you. Watch out for those dogs, those evildoers, those mutilators of the flesh. For it is we who are the circumcision, we who serve God by His Spirit, who boast in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh — though I myself have reasons for such confidence.
If someone else thinks they have reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I have more: circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; in regard to the law, a Pharisee; as for zeal, persecuting the church; as for righteousness based on the law, faultless.
But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for Whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith. I want to know Christ — yes, to know the power of His resurrection and participation in His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.
Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
All of us, then, who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you. Only let us live up to what we have already attained.
Join together in following my example, brothers and sisters, and just as you have us as a model, keep your eyes on those who live as we do. For, as I have often told you before and now tell you again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is set on earthly things. But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables Him to bring everything under His control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like His glorious body.

freedom from sin is through death.
previously discussed; see Romans 7:1 etc
guess why He died

this doesn't equal our equality with God.
that's Satan's desire - 'to be like the Most High' - who also desires first and foremost that you do not believe in Christ, not His words nor His person, but rather believe you have no fault in yourself, so that you both are condemned by your unbelief and also blinded in your vanity.
because it is the one who believes who is saved, and who does not believe, who is condemned -- no matter how many filthy rags she adorns herself with.

Romans 6-8 equals God's mercy towards us, releasing us from what justly bound us in condemnation, overlooking our sin

please note that they are boasting in their righteous works & great lives, not their faith, belief, or trust in Him as their intercessor.
that primarily they are boasting of how 'good' they consider themselves to be, not looking to Him for mercy.

the one who dared not lift his head is not justified by his sinlessness but by his humility, looking to God for mercy rather than boasting in how good she is.

it is not by works.
it is by grace through faith.
it is by the goodness of God - Christ Jesus, the Good Shepherd, who alone is good.
His own words.

He constrained all under sin so that He might show mercy to all.
all means all. you included.

This is to bona fide Christians, and bona fide Christians have been born again, or whey couldn't be a Christian. You are made sin free on day one. 1 John 1:9 ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS. But you could have much more to learn that God calls sin, but you are unaware of. That may be what you are thinking about. Read verse 16. It talks about a Christian living UP TO the level they know, so there could be more to learn to be holy; but as long we live up to what are conscience tells us is okay, than you have assurance with God, but are still a baby Christian. 1 John 3:21. I've learned that God takes us through different levels of obedience. Paul calls it "from glory to glory."

Understand?

Huh? God does not overlook our sin in those chapters. Only in chapter 3 do you see Him overlooking sins previously committed by the Jews under the law before Christ. I hope you are not still at work and can show me the passage you are misquoting.

You are made sin free on day one.

Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him,
since He always lives to make intercession for them.

(Hebrews 7:25)

free from sin doesn't mean you are faultlessly equal to God.
it means God Himself is eternally interceding for you by His own blood

interesting sidenote:
if you refuse to confess your own sin, are you forgiven it?

Jesus was the first one who lived a sinless life out of many brethren to follow Him. Romans 8:29-30. We can do the the same things that Jesus did and more.

Good night, post.

ahem, dear super-teacher,

Romans 7:1

Or do you not know, brethren (for I speak to those who know the law), that the law has dominion over a man as long as he lives?

So? This is about the LAW before Christ. It is CHRIST who takes away our sin.
