I would venture to say that some "Spirits" have multiple existences.

Why did Moses and Elijah meet Jesus on the mountain?
Why was Peter, James and John allowed to witness that meeting?
Why would Peter think they would need tabernacles? Were they in flesh or spirit form?

So it's after the 6th day.. that would be the 7th day right?

So Jesus is heading towards Jerusalem and it's the Feast of unleavened bread.
And all males must appear before the Lord in the place that he chooses on these specific days (nights)
Thus it becometh us to to fulfil all righteousness... which is what Jesus told John the Baptist prior to his being baptized with water.
Mat 3:15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.

So were Moses and Elijah simply fulfilling the law?

I do believe you have purposely missed the spiritual value of Jesus' words with the woman at the well.

John 46] Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.

Matthew 10:28 is Jesus' "way" of saying that there will be no resurrection unto eternal life for the unsaved. (hell is simply the grave).

Hades =hell, Hades = the grave. Hades = Sheol, Sheol = the grave.
The Hebrew word for soul( Ne'phesh) translated-breath--the breath of life made one a living soul, not has a soul- Genesis 2:7-- All the living creatures in the water became living souls. Gen 1:24 says all living creatures become a soul.
