The Bible teaches us that Satan is the ruler of this world (1 John 5:19). He is the most subtle (Genesis 3:1). There is no truth in him (John 8:44).

How often do we follow him without even knowing it?

I am reading into Smith Wigglesworth. One day he had a visitor who wanted badly to see him. As the visitor approached his house Smith Wigglesworth opens the door and asks him what is under his arm. A newspaper he explains. Now Smith Wigglesworth claimed he had no books in his house save his bible. He then proceeds to tell the visitor he will not allow that paper in his house. The visitor then tosses the newspaper and enters the house for quality conversation.

Smith Wigglesworth was a plumber whose wife taught him to read. All he read was the Bible. When going through the many hours of online videos I have learned that this is a must for spiritual health. A lot of Satan's subtle ways comes into our house via the media. If we are not careful we will be left powerless as we sit and worry over the fate of the world.

God knows what's best.

There are three examples of men responding to a decision by God that we would be outraged with if made by any human

We can be like Noah and say God knows what’s best

We can be like Abraham and say what about the righteous

Or we can be like Moses and call God out

I choose to call God out and say enough of this ridiculous millennia long injustice of Satan being allowed to be a “god” while billions of us suffer and die because of something we had nothing to do with

Blessed are they who mourn for they shall be comforted

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
For they shall be filled.

i am with you on this(senseless suffering) just as Job was = we have to trust since we know very little compared to Eternity.

Don't let the devil, who you are rightly mad at, transfer you mind/heart to be mad at God.

i had these arguments with God as well - does not do well with our soul/thoughts

PLEASE read and Pray the Gospel of John

Peace

The Bible teaches us that Satan is the ruler of this world (1 John 5:19). He is the most subtle (Genesis 3:1). There is no truth in him (John 8:44).

How often do we follow him without even knowing it?

I think the prime example is when Satan tempted Jesus with giving Him the kingdoms of the world if Jesus would follow him (Luke 4:5-7).

See Isaiah 10 where God uses the title "Assyrian" put for Satan. There God calls him "the rod of Mine anger", which reveals God simply uses Satan as a punishing rod upon the rebellious. There is no such idea written in God's Word that shows Satan is co-equal with God.

Here is another place in Isaiah where God uses the title of "the Assyrian" to point to Satan...

Isa 30:31-33
31 For through the voice of the LORD shall
the Assyrian be beaten down, which smote with a rod.

32 And in every place where the grounded staff shall pass, which the LORD shall lay upon him, it shall be with tabrets and harps: and in battles of shaking will he fight with it.

33
For Tophet is ordained of old; yea, for the king it is prepared; He hath made it deep and large: the pile thereof is fire and much wood; the breath of the LORD, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it.
KJV

Most reading that will think God is simply speaking of the flesh king of Assyria per history. The problem with that though is, the flesh king of Assyria has NOT YET been assigned to perish in that fire represented by "Tophet". And God even says there that Tophet fire was "ordained of old", pointing to the previous world earth age when Satan first rebelled against Him.

God does this usage of flesh titles also in Ezekiel 28 about Satan, for there it says he was in God's Garden of Eden, and was the anointed cherub that covereth. Those are attributes that do not apply to any flesh man.

How do you equate Assyria with Satan?

Impossible, really, when you consider....

"that you may know" This is a PERFECT ACTIVE SUBJUNCTIVE (oida is PERFECT in form, but is translated as PRESENT). Assurance of one's salvation is a key concept, and an often stated purpose of 1 John. There are two Greek synonyms (oida and ginōskō) used throughout the letter/sermon which are translated "know." It is obvious that assurance is the heritage of all believers! It is also obvious that because of the local situation then and the cultural context now that there are true believers who do not have assurance. This verse is theologically similar to the closing of the Gospel of John (cf. 1 John 20:31).

The closing context of 1 John (5:13-20) lists seven things that believers know. Their knowledge of gospel truths provides a worldview, which when combined with personal faith in Christ, is the bedrock foundation of assurance.

believers have eternal life (1 John 5:13, oida, PERFECT ACTIVE SUBJUNCTIVE)

God hears believers' prayers (1 John 5:14, oida, PERFECT ACTIVE INDICATIVE)

God answers believers' prayers (1 John 5:15, oida, PERFECT ACTIVE INDICATIVE)

believers are born of God (1 John 5:18, oida, PERFECT ACTIVE INDICATIVE)

believers are of (out of) God (1 John 5:19, oida, PERFECT ACTIVE INDICATIVE)
believers know the Messiah has come and given them understanding (1 John 5:20, oida, PERFECT ACTIVE INDICATIVE)

believers know the true one - either the Father or the Son (1 John 5:20, ginōskō, PRESENT ACTIVE SUBJUNCTIVE)

5:4
NASB, NKJV, NRSV   "For whatever is born of God"
TEV, NJB, REB   "because every child of God"
Peshitta   "For whoever is born of God"

The Greek text puts the word "all" (pas) first for emphasis, as in 1 John 5:1.

The NEUTER SINGULAR (pan) is used which is translated "whatever."

However, the context demands a personal connotation (i.e., the generic sense) because it is combined with the PERFECT PASSIVE PARTICIPLE of "begotten." It is one who believes in Jesus and has been born of God who overcomes the world (cf. 1 John 4:4; 2:13,14).

"our faith" This is the only use of the NOUN form of the term "faith" (pistis) in all the writings of John!

P
ossibly John was worried about an overemphasis on "correct theology" (as a system of beliefs) versus daily Christlikeness. The VERB (pisteuō) is used extensively by John. Our faith brings victory because

it is linked to Jesus' victory
it is linked to our new relationship with God
it is linked to the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit

This is from a source, if you need it, I'll gladly send you a link.

If Jesus had returned in 1000 AD, you and I would have never been born and God could not have adopted us into His family.

  • [2 Peter 3:9 NLT] The Lord isn't really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.
  • [Romans 8:18 NLT] Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.
EDIT: The population of the world in AD 100 was 390 million and the current population is 7,942 million. If only 1% of the increase in population - ignoring all those that lived and died in between - became "saved", (few rather than many), then waiting has gained 75,500,000 people for the family of God!

Satan only goes where the forest fires are. Lucifer isn't going to Race to forest that isn't on fire. What are you talking about?? How many people have holy spirit? How many people are threat to satan?? Think about it. Job 1:1. There was a man in the land of UZ, whose name was job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God and eschewed evil. Job is one of God's Elect. He repents, loves and serves God, obedience. Why is satan after Job?. 1:6. Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and satan came also among them. 1:7. Lord said unto satan, Whence comes thou? then satan answered the Lord and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down. This goes on, Jesus asks satan, if he noticed Job? Of course satan did. How come ?? This is were one of the forest fire's are. Job is one of God's Elect. Those who have holy spirit are threat to satan. God delivered Job from satan's persecution. Jude verse 9. Yet Michael, the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, Durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke Thee. Moses had the holy spirit. Satan wanted his body, to try to do away with Gods laws. Do you think satan likes any of Gods Election. Satan doesn't believe in God's word. When satan as antichrist comes near future, he will convert many people to his false doctrine. Satan isn't going to race to those who are biblically illiterate. There's no forest fire. Get the picture. First Peter 5:8. Be sober, be VIGILANT; because your adversary the devil , as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking Whom he may devour. Lucifer already has lot of people on the wrong path. Either wrapped up in the ways of the world. Or playing church. Thier biblically illiterate. They are non threat to satan. Peter 1:2. Elect, according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus christ; Satan is after God's Elect. They have the holy spirit. I documented this.

Look at all the christians who are hoping in a falsehood = 'pre-trib rapture'

Pre-trib rapture never came out of the Mouth of God and cannot be found in Scripture yet many are under it's delusion.
