can you say me it

Hello Holy!

That was a sad situation for the 5 virgins who had no oil when the Bridegroom came, don't you think?

I think you would agree that we have many now who are out of oil. Another sad situation.

The ten virgins of Matthew 25 represent believers on Jesus Christ for the end of this world.

All ten virgins had lamps and oil in their lamps, and were prepared to wait for the Bridegroom.

Five of the virgins were wise and had a 'spare vessel' of the Oil to go with their lamps. The other five were foolish, and brought no extra Oil.

When midnight came, the word came that the Bridegroom was coming, all ten virgins then trimmed their lamps, but the five foolish virgin's lamps had run out of Oil, so they asked to borrow from the five wise virgins.

The five wise virgins said no, otherwise they wouldn't have enough Oil. They told the foolish virgins to instead go to the market and buy Oil.

So the five foolish virgins went to the market to buy, and while there the Bridegroom came and the five wise virgins went in with the Bridegroom.

The five foolish virgins returned, still with no Oil because one cannot buy the Oil from The Holy Spirit, and they then ask the Bridegroom to open up to them, and he said he never knew them.

Jesus then said watch therefore, because you don't know the day or the hour of His coming. That was actually a command for us to be watching the Signs of the end He gave us in the previous Matthew 24 chapter.

The meaning of the 10 virgins parable is this...

The ten virgins represent believers on Jesus Christ waiting for His coming.
The lamps represent our works by understanding in Him.
The Oil represents understanding by The Holy Spirit.
The market represents the traditions of men which are sold in place of the Oil, but do not give the Oil.

How does one get the Oil? Through disciplined study in God's Word like Apostle Paul told Timothy, becoming a 'workman' that need not be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth, asking God for understanding in His Word. Jesus said that if you stay in His Word then you shall become His disciples indeed, and you shall know the Truth, and the Truth will make you free (spiritually).

I'm sorry, Davy, but the oil doesn't come from our works or likewise, it comes from simple faith in the finished of Christ.

That was the problem with the 5 virgins, that faith had fallen by the way.

There was a famous theologian that once said something appropriate here, "we work because we are saved, not to get saved."

The Oil represents understanding given by The Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit of course comes through Faith on Jesus Christ, but remember Jesus said The Holy Spirit Comforter would teach us 'all things' (John 14:26). So it's not just a matter of believing on Jesus and when you get The Holy Spirit you immediately know all of God's Word. If we listen to The Holy Spirit then He helps us, even in our daily walk with Jesus. But one of His main duties is to give us understanding as we study in God's Word, because God's Word was written by holy men as they were moved by The Holy Spirit.

The way The Holy Spirit teaches us is... as we 'study' God's Word to show ourselves approved of God, we are to become a workman in His Word like Apostle Paul said. That is the idea Lord Jesus used for His 'disciples'. It comes from the word 'discipline'. This is why Lord Jesus said if you stay in His Word, you shall become His disciple indeed, and you shall know the Truth, and the Truth shall make you free (John 8:31-32).

The problem is though, not all brethren listen to The Holy Spirit, nor even study all of God's Word, and thus do not 'stay' in it.

One can look back to what Jesus taught in His parable of the sower, with the different examples He gave of how those four different groups 'hear' The Word of God, and either stay in it to produce much fruit in Christ, or that fall away. There are many examples in today's Churches of those groups in His sower parable.

Thus the five foolish virgins didn't have that spare vessel of Oil to go with the Oil that was in their lamps. It suggests they didn't discipline theirselves by staying in God's Word with the help of The Holy Spirit. They instead fell to men's traditions outside God's Word. And how do we know that per the parable? It's because the five foolish virgins actually believed they could go to the market and 'buy'... the Oil. So what does that buy at the market idea represent? It represents the ways of this world, like those false prophets that preach as a business that push the lie that a believer can buy their way into Heaven.

And in summary what is causing the five foolish virgins to lack that spare vessel of Oil in the first place? Other than not listening to The Holy Spirit or not staying in God's Word, they allow other ideas and things to get in the way (sower parable again). They have not realized that Satan and his worker's job for this world is to present deception traps, and by that, God knows whether you will listen to Him in His Word or not.

Everything that God does is based on the Laws He has created. For example, "the wages of sin is death," that is a Law God has created and abides by. "Except a man be born-again, he will not see the Kingdom of God" another Law that man must obey, which is demanded by God, or suffer the consequences.

The work of the Holy Spirt in the believers life (our sanctification) is not an automatic work, that work He desires to carry out in us can be, and often is hindered by the lack of knowledge of His Laws.

What we do of our own efforts is worthless to God, only what we allow the Holy Spirit to do through us is accepted by Him. It's a hard thing for born-again man to totally surrender to Christ and let Him have His way in our lives. We feel we must do something, we make our own Laws that we think are required by God, not realizing they are works of our own doing, which are unacceptable by God.

It's not about our works that we can do for God, it's about allowing Him to live our lives, having no confidence in anything we can do for God, but desiring that His will be carried out in us. This requires a daily dying to self, over and over denying to the will of our works, and desiring His works through us.

We accomplish this through faith in the finished work of Christ, and that alone. What justified us the same thing that sanctifies us. Most believers understand that faith in Christ is what saves us, but then they move on to works, whatever they think those works may be for their sanctification, and that is how we bind the hands, so to speak, of the work the Holy Spirit desires to fulfill in us.

The work is done by Him, Davy, not us. We die daily to our will of works, our abilities to do anything for God, and desire that Christ have His way, not our way. This is when the Holy Spirit has the legal right to work in our lives. The sin we have becomes less and less, Christlikeness is being accomplished. The Holy Spirit is no longer handcuffed by our will.

Lot of what you said sounded good, but it's not Biblical, especially that part above.

Jesus promised to send The Holy Spirit Comforter and that He would teach us all things. That is ONLY for those in Christ that heed and stay in His Word as one of His disciples. It's as simple as that.

John 14:26
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, Whom the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
KJV

So what I recommend for you, is to stop trying to create your own word over His, and abide by what He said and taught, like the above John 14:26 verse.

OK, Davy, you keep making the Laws you need to do, and I will surrender depending on Him.

I'll show you something else, if you're willing to listen.

In the ten virgin's parable, why... would the five foolish virgins think they could go to market and 'buy' the Oil? And what did it mean when they came back to find the Bridegroom had closed the door on them?

You should be able to quote Bible Scripture in answer to those 2 questions instead of just giving your own words of how you think The Holy Spirit operates.

I don't make laws, I stay in His Word as written, and don't try to make up my own word to overshadow His, and now you are bearing false witness and thus BREAKING GOD'S LAW.

Of course the interpretation of that parable with be completely different in the eyes of one who depends on his own works for sanctification vs one who depends on the Holy Spirit for the works to be fulfilled by Him.

Nope, you are wrong still. Like Peter said, God's Word is of no 'private' interpretation (2 Peter 1:20). Your thinking it is, is obviously one of your problems with not 'staying' in Bible Scripture, not being able to give answer directly from God's Word. It is perfectly OK to quote a Scripture IF... you are staying in its Biblical context where it is written, and in connection with that same subject with other Scripture witnesses. It is OK to explain it using your own language and wording IF you stay with what it is teaching.

The problem many have today is they too often go off on tangents that have nothing to do with the actual Scripture they may be referencing. Some will even just quote irrelevant Scripture in a vain attempt to show The Bible supports what they say when it really does not, now that's truly the height of vanity. Will The Holy Spirit show those types anything? Of course not.

Now my two questions are not difficult, if you understood the 'basics' of Christ's parable of the ten virgins. And those in Christ Jesus are... to understand His parables.

1. the five foolish virgins believed they could 'buy' the Oil because the idea of 'buying' at the market is an idea of THIS world, a vain thing in comparison to God and His things. So why would they think they could get one of God's things at a worldly market? Don't you recall Simon in Acts 8 that tried to buy The Holy Spirit? Peter's response to Simon...

Acts 8:20-23
20 But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.
21 Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.
22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.
23 For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.
KJV

Where would Simon have gotten such an idea as buying The Holy Spirit?

When Oral Roberts once went up in his tower at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma, he demanded 8 million dollars or he was gonna' die:

In what mode of thinking was Oral Roberts in? He was thinking about 'money'. There are many, many preachers out there that are mainly thinking about one thing mostly, 'money'. Anyone can preach The Gospel with true meaning, and those do, but for... money. Jesus in John 10 called those a "hireling". He didn't call those. Those are the foxes God was talking about in Ezekiel 13. He said He did not send them, that they say,"God said...", and He didn't speak to them.

That... was the kind of thing the five foolish virgins were relying upon. It's those kind of churches where one will find preachers that God did not truly send, and He did not call them, and for that reason they preach their 'own' word, making it sound nice and Biblical when it isn't. An example? Jesus in Matthew 24 and Mark 13 shows His coming to gather His Church is AFTER the tribulation. The Pre-trib Rapture churches instead say Jesus comes BEFORE the tribulation to gather His church. That's what men's doctrines do, they even LIE directly against God's Word, so of course they don't stay in it, but fabricate their own doctrines OUTSIDE God's Word. That is why the five foolish virgins thought they could go buy the Oil at market. It shows they LACKED UNDERSTANDING, and did not continue being taught by The Holy Spirit, and thus they did not listen to what Jesus taught to be 'watching' leading up to His return so as to be ready to be received by Him.

2. When the Bridegroom closed the door on the five foolish virgins, it brings up what He taught in Matthew 7 about those that will say on that day, "Lord, Lord..." and He will tell them to get away from Him, that He never knew them. But they will say, "didn't we preach Thy name in the streets, and do many wonderful miracles in Thy name, and cast out demons in Thy name?", and then Jesus points out that they were guilty of doing 'iniquity'.

What specific 'iniquity' is set to happen only for the coming "great tribulation" time? Falling away to worship the WRONG Messiah, the "strong delusion" warning Apostle Paul gave in 2 Thessalonians 2, the false-Messiah coming that Jesus warned us about in Matthew 24:23-26, the "another beast" "dragon" that Christ warned us about through John in Revelation 13.

The coming "great tribulation" is the timeline of the ten virgins parable. Jesus comes to end... the "great tribulation", so per the parable, the time when the ten virgins fall asleep, that represents the "great tribulation" timing, the time just prior to the Bridegroom's coming.

No, Davy, I'm afraid what's wrong today is the same as what was wrong 2500 years ago, man loves his works, he takes pride in those works.

The result from that is a born-gain believer trapped in this world without victory of any kind over the flesh. While the Holy Spirit grieves over what could be if man would just believe and trust Him.

No response to my 2 questions about the ten virgins parable I see. That shows you haven't really done a real Bible study on that ten virgin's parable. Do you even know WHY Jesus would refer to His faithful as wise virgins? I mean, why did there even have to be five wise and five foolish; why couldn't there just be ten virgins and that's it?

No response, Davy, I don't want to argue. Nothing I can say about the faith and lack of faith concerning the 10 virgins would make any difference in this conversation.

I never said the five foolish virgins lacked Faith. So please don't try to PUT YOUR OWN WORDS INTO MY... MOUTH. Got it?

For YOUR benefit, since you apparently do not know the difference...

Getting UNDERSTANDING IN GOD'S WORD is NOT the same thing as having FAITH in The Father and His Son Jesus Christ. FAITH is only the 1st STEP to be ABLE to get understanding in God's Word. The five foolish virgins have that 1st step, Faith, because otherwise they would NOT have any Oil in their lamps. You should understand that right off the bat.

Got some things to do, Davy. May the Lord bless you and keep you in His will, my friend.
