Is 2 Corinthians 4:4 PROOF that most English Bible versions are erroneous?

Here is the KJV translation of 2 Corinthians 4:4:
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

So what was the ORIGINAL Greek word that was translated into "world"? That word is "aiōnos". That is the same word that so many English Bibles MISTRANSLATE into "eternal". So why and how was it translated into the word "world"? The obvious answer is that the verse would make NO SENSE if they had translated it into "eternal", which they did in so many other verses. Can you imagine reading "In whom the God of this eternity..."? LOL. That wouldn't make any sense at all and so they veered from "eternal" and instead used "world".

Here is the CORRECT translation from Young's Literal Translation.

"in whom the god of this age did blind the minds of the unbelieving, that there doth not shine forth to them the enlightening of the good news of the glory of the Christ, who is the image of God;

age is a better rendering of the Greek word Aion, but that does not change the meaning at all Pat. It means that satan is the god over us at this time, but soon he will be removed and locked away for a millennium sir.
