Your hatred for God and his holy word does not surprise me, evil beast. It is written in the scriptures that the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Fill thou up the the measure of thy fathers, child of the devil.
I have reported your post and am putting you on "ignore".

Are Christians justified by faith only?

Perhaps the question should be: What faith is able to save man?

There is not controversy between Paul and James. Both write "faith" saves, but Paul writes of saving faith that comes supernaturally by the grace of God. And James focus is on the effects of faith that truly saves us. IOW when man possesses saving faith according to grace, there will naturally be good works that follow. Because man is saved by grace through faith that is not naturally found in those who are in unbelief. But when man possesses the kind of faith that is unto salvation, they are ordained to produce good works. As James says by our works accompanied by saving faith we shall know we have eternal life through Christ.

When we profess faith in Christ is it faith like that of the devil, that professes belief in Christ, but by deeds show THAT faith comes from mental assent without a change of heart? Or is the faith we profess to possess manifested by doing good? It the latter, we can be assured the faith we possess is not natural, but supernatural work of the Holy Spirit in us both willing us and working in us to do that which is pleasing to God.

We should remember that all who profess to be of Christ (Christians) say they have faith, but Scripture tells us there are some among believers that have not faith that saves! If we say we have saving faith in Christ alone we will have love for others and this love will be made known through our good works.

1 Corinthians 13:2 (KJV) And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

Galatians 6:10 (KJV)
As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Colossians 1:4 (KJV) Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints,

True faith is always known by our love for others.

Greetings, my friend. Have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed? And unto what were you baptized?

Yes, we are justified (accounted as righteous) through faith and not by works (Romans 4:2-6) which is not to be confused with being justified (shown to be righteous) by works. (James 2:14-24)
Sir, have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed? And unto what were you baptized?

Not all that are of the faith of Christ have seen nor understood the baptism of the Holy Ghost as per the first out pouring in act; the initial evidence of tongues.

Yet when we believe in Christ we receive & know the Father and his Spirit !

One cannot have the one w/o the other's actions in our lives.

Greetings, my friend. Have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed? And unto what were you baptized?

Without the Holy Spirit I would not have believed Christ for eternal life! I was baptized (supernaturally) by the Holy Spirit when I heard the Gospel and according to grace through faith I believed! All the gift of God that no man may boast.

What about you? Are you depending upon your good works (water baptism) or natural faith to wash away your sins?

Yes I have and my baptism was not merely unto John's baptism, unlike those in Acts 19:2-4 who have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit and still needed to believe on Him who would come after John, that is, on Jesus Christ.

My friend, what I am about to say, I say to your shame. The verse you are wresting to your own destruction (2 Peter 3:15-16), is Ephesians 2:8-9 which says:

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast."

But you, rwb, have failed to obey the Holy Ghost who said:

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

For if you had done so, which you clearly have not, then you would have known that the epistle to the Ephesians is not written to people like you who think that they are christians, but have never obeyed the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. The epistle is written to:

"...The saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus..." (Ephesians 1:1).

How did the Ephesians become saints, rwb? They became saints when they were:

"...Baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied." (Acts 19:5-6).

They were saved by baptism, calling on the name of the Lord (Acts 2:21, Acts 2:38) which is for the remission of sins. And they received the Holy Ghost which will cause men to speak with tongues and magnify God (Mark 16:17, Acts 2:4, Acts 2:39, Acts 10:46).

This is how they were, by the grace of God, saved through faith; and that not of themselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast. Even their faith through which they obeyed the gospel was not of themselves. Because:

"...Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." (Romans 10:17).

God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. Therefore, rwb, if you (in your open rebellion against God and his holy word) imagine that us christians have something to "boast" over because we have obeyed the Gospel, then I testify to you in the name of Jesus Christ, (the name through which I received remission of sins), that you are a fool and blind.

It is not of any works of righteousness which we have done that saved us. For by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified:

"...But according to his MERCY he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, AND renewing of the Holy Ghost..." (Titus 3:5).

Therefore, rwb, I set before you life and death. Choose life.

Amen. May I ask, what is the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost?

People who say that they are justified by faith only are therefore not abiding in the doctrine of Christ and also are not christians. As it is written:

You are very judgmental and guilty of idolatry, You are playing God and deciding who is and is not saved who have placed their trust in Jesus.

But we are saved by grace through faith alone! Eph. 2:8-10

Yes, knowing and using Scriptures for encouragement and edification is one thing, but
using them to "bite and devour" bashing others over the head in judgment / name calling
totally uncalled for.

Amen.

My friend, why is it that you falsely accuse me and then expect an answer from me? I don’t give that which is holy unto the dogs, neither do I cast my pearls before swine. It is written, Wherefore is there a price in the hand of a fool to get wisdom, seeing he hath no heart to it?
when folks don't give an answer, it's usually because they don't have one.
Nice try, though, with all of the verses.

As it is written concerning you children of the devil who pervert my Father's Word:

And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

Fill thou up then the measure of thy fathers, o fool and blind. For how shalt thou escape the damnation of hell? Know of a truth that it slumbers not.
Since you don't get it, here it is again...

What I quoted by Apostle Paul to you CONFIRMED YOU ARE A LIAR with your false doctrine of works salvation.

So may my Heavenly Father rebuke you, in the Name of Jesus Christ!

Yes I would agree except for people that can't perform works. Myself, I don't preach the Gospel, because I am schizophrenic and found from attempting it that all I do is damage things worse. But yeah normal people probably are required to do good works more than disabled people.
Just witnessing Christ Jesus to others is a type of 'work' in Christ, and it doesn't have to be preaching, but only a simple Testimony of how Jesus and The Gospel has affected your life and those around you.

Even if you quoted this verse correctly, i.e., in context, you would still be wrong.

Jeremiah 21:8, "And to this people you shall say: Thus says the Lord: See, I am setting before you the way of life and the way of death."

I know that you don't agree but... YOU'RE NOT GOD!

What a shame, sir that you reject the word of truth by choosing death. Charity rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth. But you have rejected the truth. You know nothing of God's love, for you have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication. You are not born again by that incorruptible seed which is the word of God. It is written: He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

Your blood be upon your own head. Farewell, sir.

Be sure and look within your self and see if those verses you quote above apply to you.
You are being reproved too.
