Very well, but in a covenant, both sides have requirements placed upon them. Abraham's was understood ~ obedience ~ as is the case in all the lesser covenants, from Adam's, through Moses's, and on through David's.
Grace and peace to you.
Right, in order, 1.) the covenant of life, with Adam and then renewed with Noah, 2.) the covenant of land with Abraham, 3.) the covenant of the law with Moses, and 4.) the covenant of a king, with David and Israel as a whole. The requirement for Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and David (and all of their progeny and/or all of Israel) ~ every time ~ was perfect obedience. And of course they all failed, which made (and still makes, because we all fall short of God's glory) the coming of a Savior, Who enveloped all these things in a perfect, full way. And come He did, ultimately paying the wages of sin ~ death, even death on a cross ~ on their and our behalf, thereby redeeming us all and securing us to God and His great salvation. To the praise of His glorious grace, as Paul says.
And I'll ask again: Do you not believe in our eternal security in Christ? That we cannot "lose our salvation," because we are kept in God's power, through the work in us of His Spirit ~ this is sanctification ~ not ours?
Grace and peace to you.
