The corporate executives of HanesBrand Inc in North Carolina USA should be tried for crimes against humanity, and given a lifetime sentence in a prison camp performing hard labor, cleaning out pig pens in North Carolina for 12 hr days would be fitting

Most people in some of these countries live a haggard existence, they are in extreme poverty. And that is what being poor is like. People today in affluent countries do not understand such a grinding life experience nor can they relate to it in any experience they have had, nor do they want to even think about it, as if they were them. Even the poor in affluent nations are well off in comparison.

Somehow you have managed to make me, a buyer of underwear, a child abuser! Wow!

What remains to be answered is whether Halima’s father is forcing her to work so he can afford cigarettes (or hashish), or whether Halima earns just enough to feed herself?

If the latter is the case, what then? As a father and grandfather, I will always sacrifice myself to support my family, but what do we know about Pakistani culture? Are girls (women) 2nd class citizens freely exploited?

Note: Child labor laws have also had the down side that children have been prohibited from working on the family farm or business. Be careful what and how you legislate.

The root cause such laws have tried to prevent is child abuse, and the root cause of child abuse is people who have turned from God.

Let us pray that, with the help of the Holy Spirit, we can persuade the Godless to turn to God. (See, e.g., the book of Acts; also Proverbs 1:7.)
