I still will say God bless America, but not because I think we deserve to be blessed. I say it because America needs God's help if there is to be any hope of pulling out of this situation that we have gotten ourselves into. The way I see it, our choices themselves are going to be a curse on this nation. We don't need additional curses heaped upon what is already there, unless they would result in recovery from this situation.

Well you tell me where the line is between seeking blessing for sin and sin is...the wrath of God is our only hope and mercy,the true judgement lies in our slow decline...like a slow death...as far as political kool aid is concerned it's easy to dismiss politics as being of little consequence on a full stomach.The lack of any real pain or suffering in America like that which is found in other countries is one of the reasons we are here,pride and stupidity tell us it can't happen here,hedonistic humanism says it doesn't matter and religous pride and presumption tells us it doesn't matter because God will let us glide through untouched....God has told us we have a choice between blessing and cursing,life and death...we as a nation have chosen death and cursing...he will probably honor our choice.
Many people think the time for God's judgement never comes,we have of course modern christianity to thank for this....there was a time when the judgement of God was known,feared and looked for....modern christianty teaches that judgement never comes and sin can go on forever....the bible of course does not agree with any of that.
America is nothing more than her people. And while I do believe there are indeed consequences to sin, God tells us to pray for our enemies not curse them.
People also think that by enacting laws, this will bring about moral value to those that have low morals to begin with.
What do we know of the 10 commandments today. That the law was and is perfect, yet it can not save. The law is only a tutor to those that feel the sword tip of its conviction.
The problem isn't laws the problem is people with no moral value. I'm not going to believe that laws are going to change this.
When I over look my neighbors offense and teach him Gods plan for his life,, I do well.
When I tell my neighbor that you are in error and instead of trying to teach him I go to the court house and petition a law against my neighbors offense. Is this the will of my Lord? The fruit of this crop is bitter, it's a white washed tomb at best. All pretty and "obedient" on the outside "lawful" but it only contains dead mens bones, death. Nothing has changed all that has changed is you make bitter the ones that need salvation the most, under the flag of religion. At the same time you destroy the very message you proclaim. That we are saved by faith. ......... It makes my head spin, I can't believe self proclaiming christians can't follow the result of the law, it is death not life. Fix the heart and the mind and body will follow.
Don't be offended if this is my last reply you have a God given right to your opinion as well. I'm not going to kid myself that I can change yours or anyone else with endless arguments or laws. Only God changes hearts, the one who knows the heart.

We are the enemy,the enemy of God and the enemy of ourselves,we curse ourselves by our choices and God is not obligated to rescue us from them,the bible clarly and plainly tells us that God judges sin both of the individual and the nation.....would more blessing wake America up when 4 years of relatively mild hardship has only made us worse ?
Um...I am not "the enemy of God". YOU may want to classify YOURSELF in that enemy camp but I'll stay on the other side, thank you very much.
Who has suggested otherwise ? christian happy talk has nothing to do with the choice America made last night,there are dire consequences ahead and suffering for many who had nothing to do with it....you voted for Obama...didn't you ?

I was watching this interview where a woman said she was voting for Obama because he was black. I wonder how many people blindly voted for him just because of his image? Over here in Aussie, I was just cringing.

My point is that God judges sin,perhaps your modern christianity has taught you all about the cosmic Santa Claus that gives a free pass to everything,blesses everything and everybody no matter what they do...are you going to be in front of the flat screen this Sunday whiie watching smiley Osteen in his thousand dollar suit or one of the other fluff merchants of modern christianity tell you its all good and God bless America....i suspect you will be.
