Which won't happen until Jesus returns and locks the devil up.

Perhaps you have not understood what I posted.

When Jesus made this statement, " Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth.", He was qualifying who among those who call Jesus "Lord," will inherit the earth. We should be "meek" in our walk with Jesus while we draw breath, because the dye will have been set when we physically die for when we stand before the Judgement Seat at the end of the Seventh Age and judged as to whether or not we lived a "Meek" life.

Yes, the Judgement of all of the people of the earth will take place after Satan is captured and dispatched into the Lake of Fire, but not when he is judged and locked up for 1,000 years in around 20 years' time from now.

I trust that you can perceive the time difference.

Shalom.

I was asking what YOU think the definition of meek is.

If you don't know, that's OK. Just thought I'd ask

I do not like being milked like a cash cow to satisfy your whims. If I was to cross every "T" and dot every "I" then I would never be able to do the things I need to do with respect to my relationship with God or be able to write a response that would fit within the character limit of this board just to satisfy you.

You have gate crashed another conversation and I would question your motives.

The biblical form of being meek refers to one possessing a true humble attitude that expresses itself in the patient endurance of offenses and attacks upon oneself, mentally and even physically. And is characterized by mercy and self-restraint. It is not weakness, but rather wisdom of using passive or quiet power under control, as seen in Jesus' example.

Meekness is a key quality that Jesus himself exemplified, even as He ministered in the power and Spirit of his God.

Jesus' meekness was rooted in his trust and submission to God's will, even in the face of extreme suffering and injustice.

Talk about being under constant fire and extreme pressure as Jesus kept his cool and focus in meekness, as he drew closer to the Cross.

meek /mēk/

adjective

  1. Showing patience and humility; gentle.
  2. Easily imposed on; submissive.
  3. Mild of temper; not easily provoked or orritated; patient under injuries; not vain, or haughty, or resentful; forbearing; submissive.
Just be careful because people will use the being submissive part against you claiming if you don't agree with all that they say they'll accuse you of being lifted up in pride.

We are to always be submissive to the Lord, His Word, and the leading of the Holy Spirit first and foremost.

Good morning. Its 2.49am here in the UK.
Still mulling over hebrews. I'm up to heb. 1:3

Good evening. It’s 9:57 p.m. here in the promised land (the name I’ve given my current property. It’s a short story but probably wouldn’t interest you.)

What did you think about verses 1 and 2?

Promised land, I am interested...
V. 1 & 2 So, God spoke, via the prophets, but now He speaks only through Jesus (I'm reading Wesley's comm.)

I stood up against a corrupt mayor and lost my job. I was unemployed for 13 months but finally found employment in Atlanta, Georgia. My wife’s parents weren’t happy that I was going to take their daughter (and only grandchild at the time) so far away from them (about 425 miles). I promised them the day we left that one day I would move their daughter back home. They both died a few years before I could keep my promise to them, but I finally did keep it. That‘s why we named our property the promised land.

Does the translation you’re reading say anything about “these last days”?

That's lovely ☺ and bravo!

These last days is what I'm mulling over...ie. is Jesus still speaking to us? Or, is everything He said, written down in The Gospels, meaning, everything we need is already there?

Thank you. I’m a man of my word, even though I was technically released from my promise to them.

These last days is what I'm mulling over …

When do you think “these last days” started? Where ever you locate it in time, God wasn’t speaking to us by his Son before then.

...ie. is Jesus still speaking to us?

He is.

Or, is everything He said, written down in The Gospels, meaning, everything we need is already there?

His words recorded for us in scripture are spirit and truth. They haven’t passed away. I would certainly turn there for guidance.

Do you ever pray to Jesus?

Last days...from Jesus' Resurrection to present.

He spoke via the prophets, before

He has spoken to me in the past, so yes, of course He still speaks to us, but it was scripture based, for me.

I talk to 'God' often (I believe Jesus is God, so...)

I would place it a little earlier, perhaps at the start of his ministry, but where you have located it is in the general time frame.

He spoke via the prophets, before

As I read the passage, it was the Father who spoke to us through the prophets. It is still the Father who is speaking to us in these last days, but now through Jesus.

Jesus said that the word that he speaks to us isn’t his. It is the Father who has put his words in Jesus’ mouth to speak.

He has spoken to me in the past, so yes, of course He still speaks to us, but it was scripture based, for me.

Just to help me understand you better, do you believe Jesus himself is the Father himself?

Based on who He chose during His first visit 2000 years ago, I dare say we may be surprised when Jesus returns and we find who He considers to be “real Christians”.

And there may be a few who will be astonished to find out He considers us “real Christians”.
