No but you can wash yourself clean or you will be having a long talk with God and let me tell you I have seen him mad and you don't want that.I have no idea what he does with people like that.I think he puts you to sleep for a very long time.

The god you describe is a tyrant. Are you sure you really know God?

If an infant has a dirty diaper, should they be thrown into an active volcano as punishment?

This Thread is titled : "The Case for Eternal Security".

So, lets make that case.

Here is the evidence.

Jesus is Eternal life........and that is why if you believe in Him, He said "I will give you Eternal life". "I give unto you, eternal Life, and you shall never go to Hell (Perish).""

So, if you are born again, and not just water baptized and religious....then Jesus is IN YOU.

Therefore you have eternal life, because Jesus who is Eternal Life is in you.

When you receive Salvation from God, you receive "the Gift of Eternal Life"... and that to become "in Christ" who is Eternal life.

Now, What is Eternal Life? Its Eternal Security.........Its Everlasting Life........Its to be joined to GOD, as "one with God"..... .and this can never end, unless God ends..........as He is not going anywhere.

John said......>"you can KNOW you have eternal life" which is the same as Eternal Security, and this is found "in God's Son".... because Jesus IS Eternal life...who is our Eternal Security.

Jesus told us.......""I have come to give you LIFE"..

See it?

Now how do we know that all of this is True?
Its because Jesus is ALIVE..>>He rose from the DEAD, and so that concludes our "case" for Eternal Security.

This is typically discussed
under the derogatory term OSAS
(once saved always saved)

So, I wanted to present the topic under positive terms.
To me, the comparison is between Eternal Security and Eternal Insecurity. (my own derogatory term)

Those who oppose OSAS (Eternal Security) usually don't realize what they are throwing away.

My position on the subject is as follows. (which I have posted many times on the forum)

We cannot by an act of our own will undo what only God could do in the first place.
Even in the case of Reprobation, it is God's choice, not ours.
And his aim is to return the lost sheep to the fold.
He is, after all, the Good Shepherd. - St. SteVen

When are or were you eternally secure and why are there teachings in the Bible of people not being eternally secure until if a positive verdict is made at their judgement?

Here is how you know a Born again Chrisitan is eternally secure.

Jesus said......>"if you believe in me, i give unto you (the believer) ETERNAL LIFE, and you shall never go to Hell, (Perish).."""

So, to receive eternal life from Jesus, is to be in possession of eternal security.

This is "The Gift of Eternal life" and all born again Chirstians have it.. = which is their Eternal Security.

7 Proofs Your Salvation Is Eternally Secure

I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish;
no one will snatch them out of my hand. - John 10:28 NIV

And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice
of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. - Hebrews 10:10 NIV

When you first believed in Jesus, you were saved.
But after a while, perhaps because you sinned or failed God in some way, maybe you began to question whether it’s possible to lose your salvation.
A genuine believer in the Lord Jesus shouldn’t be tormented by this question.
The Bible tells us that once we believe in Jesus Christ, we can never lose our salvation.
In this post we’ll look at some verses that show seven proofs of our salvation being irreversible and eternally secure.

1. Our salvation was initiated by God

Ephesians 1:4 says:

God chose us before we were born, even before the universe was created.
Then, when the time was right for us to be saved, He called us.
Do you think that God would choose us so long ago, send His Son to die for us,
wait for us to be born, and then call and save us, only to abandon us after we’re finally saved?
No, He would not. God is the One who initiated our salvation
before the foundation of the world and carried it out.

2. God’s love for us is eternal

Jeremiah 31:3 says:

This verse says God loves us with a love that’s eternal.
That means His love is unchanging.
Human love can be fickle, but God’s love never changes;
it doesn’t depend on what we do.
God loves us eternally.

3. God is righteous in saving us

Psalm 89:14 says:

God’s throne is immovable and unshakable because the foundation of His throne is His righteousness.
God’s love motivated Him to save us from eternal judgment. But God’s righteousness is the base of His salvation.
Many fear God’s righteousness and associate it with His wrath. His righteousness is indeed a fearful thing.
Because God is righteous, He cannot tolerate or overlook sin; He’s bound to judge all unrighteousness.
But God’s righteousness is also the base of our salvation, which is truly wonderful.

Let’s see how this is so. Romans 6:23 says:

This means that all who sin must die.
The righteous God has no other choice but to judge sinners and assign them their wages: eternal death.
But the Lord Jesus came and bore the judgment of death for sinners on the cross.
God accepted Jesus’ sacrifice as the full payment for our sins. Just as in a court of law, a judge can’t require
a debt to be paid twice, God is bound by His righteousness to honor the price Christ paid for us.
So if God wants His throne to stand, He must act in accordance with His righteousness.
Since Jesus paid the penalty for our sins by dying in our place,
God’s righteousness won’t allow Him to demand further payment from us.
This means our salvation is secured by God’s righteousness;
He can’t take it away from us. Praise Him for His righteousness!

4. We have become God’s children

John 1:12-13 says:

When we accepted Jesus as our Savior, we were saved from eternal perdition.
But that’s not all. These verses tell us we were also begotten of God to be His children.
This is something that can’t be undone.
We all know that children misbehave from time to time.
But no matter how much they may misbehave, their bad behavior can never negate
the fact that they were born of their parents. Even when children are disciplined,
that discipline doesn’t undo their relationship with their parents.
In the same way, our sins and failures can’t negate the fact that we’re born of God
and are children of God. We may sometimes require God’s discipline,
but we’ll always be God’s children, born of His divine life.

5. God keeps us in His hand

John 10:28-29 says:

All kinds of things may try to snatch us from the Father’s hand—sin, the world,
difficulties, even Satan himself. But in these verses, the Lord Jesus assures us by saying that
it’s impossible for us to be snatched away. No one and nothing is stronger than God.

6. God never changes

Hebrews 13:8 says:

Everything changes: people, circumstances, environments, the weather.
Even our own emotions fluctuate constantly; we can be up one minute and down the next.
But our salvation doesn’t hinge on our feelings. God never changes and neither does His salvation.

7. Christ has promised not to cast us out

John 6:37 says:

What a precious, unconditional promise from our Savior!
He will never cast out or reject those who have come to Him.
We can fully trust in Him and His Word to know our salvation is eternally secure.
So we shouldn’t live our Christian life in constant fear and doubt.
Our salvation is eternally secure, and we can and should trust in the Word of God,
which assures us of this fact.

I think it imperative to clarify things before entering into a discussion of this nature.

Salvation is of God.
Prior to entering into his grace we are separated from God due to our innate sinful nature. We have a mortal, carnal, natural worldly consciousness.

The things of God,like the Gospel, are considered nonsense, foolishness,to us.

Which is why we will encounter that consciousness that mocks eternal security through salvation in Christ.

Because the natural mind's ego believes itself to be in control of self.

Nothing is outside of its understanding. And if it is said to be,it must be a lie,a myth. Because the self, the mortal consciousness , lives in that realm of , I am.

I am able to choose Jesus.

Which is why the carnal consciousness that hears tell of eternal salvation insists, I am able to choose to follow Jesus.

Which actually reiterates the Bible passage against that idea when we are told that natural mind that thinks that way cannot understand.

Because God said, only when His Holy Spirit enters a person are they then able to know the meaning and truth in God's words.

So,when you encounter those who deny eternal security and mock it by labeling it in what they intend as a derogatory acronym of,OSAS,and then insist, OSAS is a license to sin, consider you no longer need waste your time trying to reason with them.

Because they just proved the truth behind 1 Corinthians 2. As their example they are what the passage is warning about in verses 14 and onward.

Besides that,we can't work to reason people into understanding scriptures, as that is given through God and as intended to be understood.

Only God can do that.

When you meet someone who denies Eternal Security in Christ's Salvation, and they also insist such a falsehood is a license to sin, believe them. Because that's what they believe.

And I'm telling you that they are also telling you they are not in Christ.

Until God chooses to change that in them, you don't stand a chance.

That's all of what God tells us in His words .

But how many of us don't believe that? And labor to change those natural minded people regardless?

OSAS =Eternal Security in Christ's Salvation.

Those who say that's not true aren't there.

Unfortunately it is not as cut and dry as that because the teachings of Jesus are spread out. Despite seeming to guarantee eternal life to people in the now, how also spoke of it as something that is had later and it seems to be conditional on those who were good or not. What do you make of that? Here is an example.

John 5
28Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming when all who are in their graves will hear His voice 29and come out—those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.

The Bible is actually contradictory on the subject of eternal security.
I grew up in a church that supported eternal security and I still believe it is true.

I don't believe that eternal security is secured at the judgment.
I believe that eternal security was secured on the cross.
The death penalty for sin is paid in full.

Amen. It was paid in full.

When we enter into God's grace we are irrevocably Saved. Not by our own efforts . So,we cannot brag we chose to save ourselves.

Good deeds, works, occur later because now we are able to understand the words of God as he leads us to serve him here on Earth.

There is a great argument to make on behalf of your beliefs, no doubt, but my approach to the Bible is that there must be an explanation for the things that seemingly contradict each other that make the verses come into agreement. What I believe is that there is a context to everything. Did Jesus' beliefs and preaching change over time, are we missing the full context, did he say something that the writers happened to not include? There are a lot of options to choose from. So the way I merry it all up is by taking it all in and concluding eternal security is conditional.

Despite seeming to guarantee eternal life to people in the now, how also spoke of it as something that is had later and it seems to be conditional on those who were good or not. What do you make of that? Here is an example.

If "All have sinned, and there is none righteous, no not one" then this means that every human being is without righteousness and "without righteousness, no one will see God"........No one shall go to heaven, because you have to be RIGHTEOUS to go to heaven.

"well behold, i use to sin more, but now i dont sin very much.....and when i do, i confess it, (if i can remember).

A.) FAIL

Listen.......the reason that God came down here wrapped in Human Flesh, is to provide "the Gift of Righteousness" so that all who believe shall be "made Righteous".

Welcome To : Salvaiton.

Its a GIFT.

"The Gift of Righteousness'"
"The Gift of Eternal Life".

John 5
—those who have done good to the resurrection of life,

The carnal mind thinks......>>"well, im trying to be good, so that means im good".

A.) FAIL

Here is God understanding of """Good""" ... regarding a SINNER.

= "being made righteous" by the Gift of Righteousness that God provides based on The Cross of Christ.

The only GOOD a human can do that God will accept, is to "" OBEY The Gospel"

How do you obey it?

A.) You BELIEVE IT, is how you OBEY it.

When you have given God your FAITH in Christ you have OBEYED the Gospel.

Good post, thanks.
"well behold, i use to sin more, but now i dont sin very much.....and when i do, i confess it, (if i can remember).
Exactly.
How are such things measured?
Was I good enough? (who knows?)
Could I have been better? (of course)
Was it enough? (who knows?)
Nope. (actually)

A.) You BELIEVE IT, is how you OBEY it.

When you have given God your FAITH in Christ you have OBEYED the Gospel.
Agree.

John 6:29 NIV
Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”

Good post, thanks.

Exactly.
How are such things measured?
Was I good enough? (who knows?)
Could I have been better? (of course)
Was it enough? (who knows?)
Nope. (actually)

God does not judge anyone for sin in Eternity.

At the GWT Judgment, the sinners are not judged for sin, they are judged for not being forgiven, before they died.

Its the LAW and the 10 Commandments that have this dominion (judgement) over a SINNER, because : "all have sinned".

So, that is a CURSE......its a curse to be under a dominion regarding what can DEFINE YOU and ME, as a SINNER.

Now.....How did God deal with this """"curse of the LAW"""".... that is on every human being?

=God came here, born of a Virgin, and offered Himself on The Cross, for ALL our SINS.

What does this accomplish for everyone who BELIEVES? ???????????????

A.) The born again are born again "NOT under the Law........but under GRACE".

What does that mean for all the born again?

It means that the :LAW can never again define your deeds as SIN.....

AA.) "Where there is no LAW, there is no SIN...(Transgression).."""""

So what has happened?

AAA.) "Christ has redeemed us from the CURSE of THE LAW"......like this.....>"God hath made JESUS.... (on THe Cross) to be SIN for US".

AAAA) "US", is every born again person, and this has to happen before you die, or as Jesus said.."if you do not BELIEVE IN ME, you shall die IN YOUR SINS"......unforgiven..........found here.

John 3:36

John 6:29 NIV
Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”

To "believe on the one whom God sent"........is to "OBEY The Gospel.

To OBEY the Gospel, is to BELIEVE IT before you die.

Its the LAW and the 10 Commandments that have this dominion (judgement) over a SINNER, because : "all have sinned".
"the LAW and the 10 Commandments" were set aside on the cross.

Ephesians 2:14-16 NIV
For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one
and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility,
15 by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations.
His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace,
16 and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross,
by which he put to death their hostility.
