Holy Spirit = heavenWhere's that said in Scripture? Nowhere, and thus your interpretation of what Jesus said specifically to Peter is inaccurate.
You said that others will receive the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven as well, but Jesus never said that. He only ever said to Peter specifically, "I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven". That is regarding something else other than His teaching of what is required to receive the reward of eternal life in Heaven. You are using circular reasoning. The key to the Kingdom is eternal life. All believers have it.
I'm afraid I'm going to have to disagree with you there.
First of all, the requirement for celibacy is NOT universal among Catholic priests. Priests are allowed to marry in the Eastern Rite. Also, some dispensations are given to priests who want to join the order who are already married.
We can't say that living a celibate life is "unnatural" as Jesus certainly didn't see it that way. Matthew 19:10-12: "10His disciples say to him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry. 11But he said to them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given. 12For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it."
In an religious institution you do not want horny priests and nuns dealing with women and children…..no good can come of it.
Sexual immorality is notorious in the Catholic church, because of the lack of the Holy Spirit among Priests and congregation. Sure, there are one here and one there in mainstream Christianity, and they are quickly kicked to the curb. The Holy Spirit among mainstream Christianity prevents this by the convicting of the Holy Spirit. The lack of the Holy Spirit and its conviction of bad behavior; bad behavior thrives.Correct, but because humans are everywhere, unfortunately sexuality immorality is found everywhere too, even in marriages and families that are meant to be kept holy as well.
"The Catholic church seems to have a near monopoly on child sexual abuse in religious settings. But looks can be deceiving, and it appears that child sexual abuse in Protestant churches is more common."Special circumstances noted.
I said it and I am going to stick to it. In an religious institution you do not want horny priests and nuns dealing with women and children…..no good can come of it. You can have wars, volcanos, earthquakes, and huracanes, but you can bet people are still having sex….the sex drives are such. This is proven by all the women and children molested by priests and the court cases and the money settlements. And the harm to the reputation of the Catholic Church….mommies have to watch their children around priests. Not good.
The Catholic's have to live in a delusional state and in denial.
Very true. And even though Paul urged (especially younger) men and women to marry in order to prevent "sexual immorality" he may not have been as enlightened as to what drives the well...."drive" in the first place.Correct, but because humans are everywhere, unfortunately sexual immorality of various kinds is found everywhere too, even in marriages and families that are meant to be kept holy as well.

Believe it or not, I DO understand what you're saying. I'm also glad that you mentioned Tobiah as Tobit is one of my favorite OT books.Marriage doesn't completely prevent sexual immorality, because as Jesus said, it is what comes out of a person that defiles.
The families which are not families and which are the origin of serious misfortunes radiating out from within the family cell to ruin the structures of nations and, afterwards, world peace, are the families in which God does not rule, but, rather, sensuality and self-interest hold sway and, therefore, filiation with Satan. Created on the basis of sensuality and self-interest, they do no rise to what is holy, but, like unhealthy grass sprouting in the mire, they always crawl towards the earth.
The angel said to Tobiah, ‘I will teach you who the devil has power over.’
Oh, there really are spouses who are under demoniac power from the first hour of their marriage! Indeed, there are people who are such even before getting married. They are this way from the moment they make the decision to find a male or female companion and do not do so with an upright purpose, but with deceitful calculations where selfishness and sensuality hold sovereign sway.
Nothing is healthier or holier than two people who sincerely love one another and unite to perpetuate the human race and give souls to Heaven.
The dignity of a man and a woman who become parents is second only to God’s. Not even royal dignity is like this. For a king, even the wisest one, does nothing but administer his subjects. These parents, on the other hand, attract God’s gaze towards themselves and carry off from that gaze a new soul, which they enclose in the sheath of the flesh born to them. I would almost say they have God as their subject, in that moment, since God immediately creates a new soul for their upright love forming a union to give a new citizen to Earth and Heaven.
If they were to consider this power of theirs, to which God assents at once! The angels cannot do so much; rather, the angels, like God, are immediately ready to support the act of the fruitful spouses and become guardians of the new creature. But there are many who, as Raphael says, embrace the marriage state in such a way as to banish God from themselves and their minds and abandon themselves to lust. And the devil has power over these.
What difference is there between a sinful bed and the bed of two spouses who do not refuse pleasure, but do refuse offspring? Let’s not engage in verbal acrobatics and deceitful reasoning. The difference is quite small. For if, because of illness or imperfections, it is advisable or permissible not to have children, people must then manage to be continent and deprive themselves of the sterile satisfactions which are nothing but sensual pleasure. If, on the other hand, no obstacle to procreation intervenes, why does one make a natural and supernatural law an immoral act by deforming its purpose?
When any honest consideration induces you not to increase the number of children, manage to live as chaste spouses and not as lustful monkeys. How can you want God’s angel to watch over your home when you turn it into a den of sin? How can you want God to protect you when you force Him to avert his gaze in disgust from your sullied nest?
Oh, the families are wretched that are formed without supernatural preparation! The families from which all searching for Truth has been excluded a priori and where, on the contrary, the word of Truth is derided which teaches what Marriage is and why it exists. The families are wretched that are formed without any thought for what is superior, but only under the spur of sensual appetite and financial considerations! How many spouses, after the inevitable custom of the religious ceremony—I said ‘custom,’ and I repeat it, since for the majority it is nothing but a custom and not the soul’s aspiration to have God with it at that moment—no longer have a thought for God and make the Sacrament—which does not end with the religious ceremony, but begins then and lasts as long as the life of the spouses, according to God's thought, just as the taking of vows does not last as long as the religious ceremony, but as long as the life of the man or woman religious—and they make the Sacrament a party and turn the party into an outlet for bestiality!
The angel teaches Tobiah that, by having the act preceded by prayer, the act becomes holy and blessed and fruitful in true joys and offspring.
It would be necessary to do this. For people to enter into marriage when moved by the desire for children, for this is the purpose of the human union, and every other purpose is a sin dishonoring man as a rational being and wounding the spirit, the temple of God, which flees in disdain, and to bear God in mind at all times. God is not an oppressive jailer, but God is a good Father who exults in the honest joys of His sons and daughters and responds to their holy embraces with heavenly blessings and with the approval which the creation of a new soul is proof of.
But who will understand this page? As if I had spoken the language of an unknown planet, you will read it without perceiving its holy savor. It will seem like old straw to you, and it is heavenly doctrine. The learned of this time, will mock it.
And they do not know that Satan is laughing over their foolishness; thanks to their incontinence, their bestiality, he has managed to turn to their condemnation what God created for their good: marriage as a human union and as a Sacrament.
I shall repeat for people so that they will remember them and be guided by them—if you can still do so through a residue of human dignity surviving in you—Tobiah’s words to his wife: ‘We are the children of saints and we cannot unite like the gentiles who do not know God.’
Let them be your norm. For, even if you were born where sanctity had already died, Baptism has still made you sons and daughters of God, of the Holy of holies, and thus you can always say that you are the children of saints—of the Holy One—and be guided by this. You will then have descendants in whom the name of the Lord will be blessed, and they will live in his Law.
And when the children live in the divine Law, the parents reap the benefits, for it teaches virtues, respect, and love, and the first to benefit therefrom, after God, are the fortunate parents, the holy spouses who have managed to make marriage a perpetual rite and not a dishonorable vice.
He gave the keys to all of his apostles.Again, regarding Matt. 16:18-18 though, Jesus said to Peter, "And I tell you that you are Peter [...] I will give you the keys of the kingdom of Heaven".
He gave the keys to all of his apostles.
Correct, but because humans are everywhere, unfortunately sexual immorality of various kinds is found everywhere too, even in marriages and families that are meant to be kept holy as well.

Hit a nerve!
The stories and the tears I have had to listen to. It is one thing that the priests finally give into their sexual needs and another that some perverts go into the priesthood thinking that it will cure them. Kind of like Alcoholics Anonymous.
And then the Church protects them and retires them with support.
No excuse for this and dirt level stupid.
No one's excusing.
It's a fact that sexual immorality is found everywhere. I've heard many stories too, including that of parents, grandparents, and other types of guardians knowing about molestation of children in their care, and do nothing to put an end to it.
And what do you mean by the Church "protects" and "supports" priests who have intercourse with children?
Well you are right whether it is IBM or the Catholic Church but the difference is extreme sexual neglect and pretty little girls coming to you for help. It is not a good combination. Here little girl let me put this in your mouth and you will feel better and be forgiven,
Had a UPS driver almost get arrested for throwing a priest over pews because he was at the coffin of a young man that he had molested and he had killed himself over it….and he was snickering.
At the churches I have visited it is a normal conversation on Sunday. In some cases people are advised to bring a witnesses for confessionals….standing outside.
Sexual molestation happens everywhere but is concentrated at the Catholic Church.
Your questions what do you mean by the Church "protects" and "supports" priests who have intercourse with children?
They pay to defend them in court.
Pay the settlements.
Retire priests with support.
They do not kick them out.
What difference? What adult doesn't a child have trust in and look to for guidance until given a reason not to? What adult who intends to have sexual intercourse with a child wouldn't be manipulative and say and use whatever will reassure them, or gain their trust?
Did you make that up, or do you have a link to a news article about that supposed true story?
I rotate between going to 7 different Catholic Churches in my city for confession and mass, depending on my schedule, and I've done this for years. In all that time, I have never seen people bring witnesses to the confessional...nor hear talk about molestation by priests as a "normal conversation on Sunday"...
Sexual molestation is concentrated on earth. Jesus didn't give His apostles and their successors of His Christian (Catholic) Church that He founded an order that states they are to molest children. Priests, like all humans, are tempted to commit immoralities (sins) by Satan and His demons, even more so considering that they are the leaders of Jesus's Church, and the entrusted guardians of His sheep!
