EATING AND DRINKING IN THE KINGDOM

[Romans 14:17 KJV] 17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Some say this verse proves the kingdom of God is only spiritual.

[Romans 14:15 KJV] 15 But if thy brother be grieved with [thy] meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died.

Paul was exhorting the body not to make meat a stumbling block to a weaker brother who thinks it is unclean.

[Luke 22:30 KJV] 30 That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

The Lord Jesus says that in the kingdom they will eat and drink in a physical kingdom, not a spiritual one.

The fact that the apostles will sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes confirms that Luke is speaking of the earthly Davidic kingdom.

[Rev 21:12, 14 KJV] 12 And had a wall great and high, [and] had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are [the names] of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: ... 14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

In the Holy city of the New Jerusalem the twelve tribes and the twelve apostles are found.

The Lord Jesus says that in the kingdom they will eat and drink.

Both can't be true; you can't eat and drink and not eat and drink at the same time.

It can be resolved by acknowledging that there must be two kingdoms; Paul in Romans is speaking of the heavenly kingdom, while Jesus in Luke is speaking of the earthly kingdoms.

I would welcome a scriptural based objection to my post..........I am willing to correct my views if there are valid reasons and in fact I did so.......I revised my post
