When you start talking with full preterists, they will tell you we are living in the new heaven and earth today, and that all of Revelation has occurred. They tie all of this to Jerusalem's destruction in 70 AD
Yes me too but not everything I believe that the rapture happens moments before the second and final comingI haven't watched it.
I am inclined to believe that a lot of the stuff that we were taught would happen in the future actually applied to ancient Jerusalem and Israel.

Sadly, to understand what Christ meant in Matthew 16:28 we need to also consider the context of the paragraph where it is found.
Matthew 16:24-28: - Take Up the Cross and Follow Him24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. 26 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? 27 For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works. 28 Assuredly, I say to you, there are some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.”
In this paragraph Christ was speaking of our need to take up our cross and follow Him. He also referenced His second coming when He will reward each according to their works was translated from G:4238 which has the following meaning: -

Now when Christ returns to reward the people of the earth at His second coming, He will judge between the righteous and the unrighteous, with the righteous being given "Life" and the inheritance in the whole earth, while the unrighteous will be dispatched into the Lake of Fire which is the Second death.
Now, Christ, in Matthew 16:27-28 was speaking of a time some 3,000 plus years into the distant future from His first advent and not, as Preterist suggest, a near future event only about 40 years into their future.
Now when Christ state that some standing with Him would not taste death until He comes in the Glory of His Father and His Angels, he was speaking that some who were standing with Him would taste the second Death when He came to judge the people of the earth
Now because they have not realised that Christ was speaking of the Second Death, they make the assumption that he was speaking that some who were standing with Him will not die physically until He came a second time.
One small misstep in our understanding of what is recorded in the scriptures will always lead to bigger errors in our understanding of the Bible.
I believe that I have understood the context of Matthew 16:24-28 and what is being said by Christ in these verses. On the other hand, Preterists because of their contextual error with respect to this passage, force upon themselves even bigger errors in their understand of the end time events.
However, it is up to each of us to consider what the scripture conveys for ourselves and come to the conclusions that we then hold.

In Matthew 16:28 Jesus was talking about His transfiguration which is described immediately following that verse. I find that the many so-called theologians pick and choose both religious prophecies and historical events as their signposts with which to explain what the scriptures was saying.
However, just one wrong interpretation of scripture can send a person down the wrong rabbit hole of error.
The first error in peoples understanding is around Genesis 2:17 which is the first reference to people in the distant future, dying the second death, at the time of the final judgement at the end of the seventh age/generation. Many have argued about what the death was that was being spoken about by God because Adam surely did not die. When Adam sinned by eating the fruit of the forbidden tree, he literally became a candidate for the second death at the time of the final judgement.
Another wrong understanding of the scriptures is found in Exodus 20:4-6 where God foretold that the continual sinning of the fathers during the first and second ages of the existence of the Israelites, that these iniquities would be visited upon their children and the children's children during the third and the fourth age/generation of the existence of the nation of Israel. The end of the first two ages of the nation of Israel indulging in continual idolatrous worship ended with the birth of Christ at the beginning of the third age/generation of Isael's existence. In Daniel 9:24a, we read of God's grace towards the Nation of Israel where He gave the fathers of Israel and opportunity over 490 years to repent of their continual idolatrous worship of Idols. Israel did not take this opportunity to repent before the birth of Christ. So, in the Daniel 9:25b-26 we read of the foretold destruction of God's temple and the scattering of God's earthly hosts to the four corners of the earth over a period of two ages/generation when the war in Heaven between God's Angels and Satan's fallen Angels concludes and Satan is forced out of heaven to be gathered with the judged kings of the earth at Armageddon and imprisoned in the Bottomless Pit for 1,000 years before they are released for the little while period at the end of the Seventh Age. 2 Chronicles 7:12ff also speaks of the destruction of the temple and the scattering of the nation of Israel to the four corners of the earth and explains why God brought this disaster upon Israel.
Now I have used the same methodology as was suggested in the video justifying the Preterist's explanation of the events that took place around 70 AD.
Others, like Ellenor White, also used the same method to justify their reasoning and understanding of the scriptures.
I also above used the same methodology to justify my conclusions in explaining away the recorded historical events around 70 AD.
However, when the basis for my conclusions is flawed, then it becomes very easy for Satan to influence me to move further away from God's presented word so as to become an enemy of God.
Seeing God's big picture and being able to explain how God's Plan for the Salvation of all of the peoples of the world will unfold is becoming more difficult with the noise coming from all of the so-called soothsayers presenting their pet theories.
God has deliberately provided long periods of times between all of His Prophetic words so that it is difficult for people to comprehend or understand when the events will take place. It seems to me that there are many events that will occur in quick succession around a major event that happens that will often create uncertainty in our conclusions.
Preterist have difficulty in explaining God's Salvation Plan for all of the people of the earth.
Do they make any good points? Probably the point they make that our focus should always be on God regardless of How God's Plan pans out.

It’s not an assumption. It’s based on the vast majority of dictionaries, lexicons, biblical commentaries, and English translations recognizing genea means a generation, as in a group of people living that the same time, in the context of the Olivet discourse.
I think CS Lewis was referring to the olivet discourse, not Matthew 16:28
