Hello
The problem with this view is that you aren't applying the teaching, instruction, and commandments of all of Paul's epistles to us. To me this is taking rightl division into error. You are denying yourself the full benefit found in Paul. Hope you understand where I am coming from. Please share your thoughts on this.
'All scripture is given by inspiration of God,
and is profitable for doctrine,
for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
That the man of God may be perfect,
throughly furnished unto all good works.'
(2Ti 3:16-17)
Hello
@Doug,
When I quoted from 2 Tim. 3:16 in an earlier post it was with the intention of showing that I believed what it says, and that all Scripture is
for us, including the earlier epistles of Paul, but that not all is
about us That is why we are exhorted in 2 Timothy 2:15 to rightly divide the word of truth.
For example all the way through the book of Acts and the epistles written during that time two baptisms were in operation, but in the epistle to the Ephesians, the Church which is the body of Christ are told to KEEP the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace (Eph. 4 & Eph. 2:14-15), and the one point out of the seven doctrines listed, as you know, is '
One baptism', not two, and that is the baptism in which the flesh plays no part, for the believer is identified with Christ the moment he believes, by the operation of the Holy Spirit. and are reckoned to have been baptised in His baptism (Col. 2:12). We live by faith and not by sight.
We have to try the things that differ between the dispensation of the mystery, what comes before, and is to follow, that we may walk worthy of the Lord. For all is of the spirit now, we do not observe days, or indulge in ceremonial, for all is of Christ and in Christ.
We have received of His fulness (Col, 2:9), so how can we be lacking anything?
In Christ Jesus
Chris
