Good on Hulk Hogan !President Trump is trying not to cry here.

I agree with the posters here that have said that after a death of a friend, family member, or stranger or celebrity, we must tell the truth, we must not compromise the gospel, but neither should we ever reduce the love of God, His grace, and His mercy to a formula or emotionally charged personal desire. His ways are not our ways, His thoughts much higher than ours. It does grate in me when I witness funerals of people I have known, when the pastor or priest declares, "he is in a better place and is looking down on us now with love and not wanting us to grieve etc etc', when the deceased had lived a life devoid of godliness or love for others and had been utterly selfish throughout his life. All that accomplishes is preaching to the unconverted that they can continue in sin and believe they are going to be okay.

Ozzy's mind, even to his own admittance, was fried. Too many drugs, too much alcohol.
But there is always, and I say always, hope. God loves the Osbourne family every bit a much as yours or mine. Even as dysfunctional as they appeared to be. And the above interview reveals a side to Ozzy that to most people would remain a mystery. But to those who know Christ, who understand that such love for the Bible and a real heart felt desire to read and understand it, can only be as a result of the work of the holy Spirit in His life. That cherishing of that gift and the very real desire to show it off as a personal treasure, cannot be faked.
Now for the truth. While God was certainly and without any doubt drawing Ozzy to Himself, and Ozzy willing to run with that as far as he was mentally able to, we cannot be so bold as to declare Ozzy to be heaven bound, but nor can we declare the opposite. We don't know.
One thing I know. When by the grace of God I find myself there, and be out walking and should I bump into Ozzy, I will not question God's judgement, but will certainly question Ozzy, who will by then be in his right mind, and ask him to share his testimony as to how God touched his life.
I think we will be very surprised by many we will discover who made it. And by those who didn't.
The word you're looking for is "good". It was good music. Unlike Christian rock, which is almost entirely flat and lifeless. A little ironic, I think. When I was a teenager, we thought Ozzy was "IT" No one rocked harder than sabbath. Even to this day their music has a strange draw on my soul. However, let's not mince words. That draw is satanic and is rooted in the flesh. Whatever fate awaits Ozzy, as only the Lord Jesus can judge...we don't want to use him as an example of how to live the Christian life.
Not sure what you are getting at here. Sorry. What a shame.
Not everyone who comes the name of Jesus has their name on his lips.
This post has the potential to turn the topic on its head, but I agree with you. And I've been a Christian for nearly 50 years, and my favourite rock group was Lynyrd Skynyrd. I still listen to them, along with others such as The Outlaws, and Steely Dan. But Christian rock? I don't think they know who they are. A foot in both worlds and not quite pulling it off. Christian rock, to me, is a contradiction in terms. Yes, now and again I enjoy and still listen to the music of my early years. For one reason only. It's 'good' music. And even Lynyrd Skynyrd had some positive things to say in their lyrics. Like in "Simple Man" and "Saturday Night Special".The word you're looking for is "good". It was good music. When someone identifying as Christian thinks, again, this is appropriate for an obituary thread, the disease of sin is thinking it is winning here.
True .When I was a teenager, we thought Ozzy was "IT" No one rocked harder than sabbath. Even to this day their music has a strange draw on my soul. However, let's not mince words. That draw is satanic and is rooted in the flesh. Whatever fate awaits Ozzy, as only the Lord Jesus can judge...we don't want to use him as an example of how to live the Christian life.
There is one thing i do agree with you about this .When someone identifying as Christian thinks, again, this is appropriate for an obituary thread, the disease of sin is thinking it is winning here.
When someone identifying as Christian bloviates catch words related to our faith and then in the same extended breath destroy everything about the gospel in closing their judgemental screed, sin is feeding well here.
It's fat, morbidly obese, and amused. And is far too many in number. One is too many.
God isn't taken seriously. Obviously. And yet, when our enemy waves its talons and says, we're here!
We must pray attention.
The spiritual war we fight isn't over till we're dead.
Now we know why Christian obituary threads draw in the worst darkest replies.
The enemy thinks in this world we are now one less, two less, three less.
He's wrong.
We are Legion.
And unlike his minions,we are eternally winning this fight.
It would be great to tell the dark ones,GO TO HELL!
That would be tardy. Because they're already there.
And they earned it.
you have done well in admitting this my friend .When I was a teenager, we thought Ozzy was "IT" No one rocked harder than sabbath. Even to this day their music has a strange draw on my soul. Agreed. When I used to go to church, shortly after I graduated high school, I attended a non-denominational church just down the road from my house. They has a more rock form of worship. Electric guitars, drums, bass, etc. This post has the potential to turn the topic on its head, but I agree with you.
