Been triple digit, near 120° heat index with high humidity for about 3 weeks...the kind if heat where even in the shade, you start pouring sweat within seconds of stepping outside. I am a week into recovery and it's still rough ... not eating much at all due to nausea, puking even water ....weak, excruciating throbbing head and neck pain .. lightning bolts, swollen brain, ears swollen shut. Gets better...even pain down to level 1 or 2, then bam... straight to level 9. And I have a very high pain tolerance. Can get liquids in very slowly with ice chips. If I take in too much, it causes puking. Using ice packs nearly constantly.

No hospital, as that is dangerous for me. They nearly killed me by overdose on demerol in 2006. Then they killed my son. I only trust my chiropractor but I have to be able to drive.

Just asking for prayer. Thank you

Have you made yourself an oral rehydration formula? Google the formula or drug stores have it premade. It's basically water, a little salt, and a lot more sugar. It was discovered for dysentery in Africa and saved lives. Now it is standard treatment for heat stroke. You can make it yourself.

Thank you. I have done Redmond's salt in water ...was considering raw unfiltered local honey. Sugar is no good. Honey at least has medicinal properties.

I just took half a tsp of honey, lick some salt from the palm of my hand, then drank cold icy water (after dropping half of it on myself, which is fine, lol). Hoping it will give me a boost. And if there's no increase in nausea in half an hour, I'll do it again.

I also have been taking potassium, benfotamine (b1), D3+K2, cayenne, Curcumin, hawthorne, and Anti-V. I take those if nausea is down and I get to eat. I didn't mention, the stress of heat stroke has triggered a shingles flare ....which is helped by a supplement called Anti-V. I don't even notice the shingles much. Heat stroke pain is much worse. Some other things are going on as well ....health and otherwise.

I am a little out of it, feeling a little chill as the pain is back down to about a level 3 or 4. Sometimes I feel like a child just wanting to take a break, and play....so excuse me if I don't sound quite myself at times.

I guess you are wiping yourself down with wet cloths to help your body temperature? If you don't have a/c that is.

Also, be careful about some supplements. One lady was taking a certain supplement and was feeling worse. She had a blood test and the supplement was ruining her liver. She stopped the supplement and her liver was ok then. It was on our news.

I'm careful and very observant of what's going on in my body. I wasn't very observant most of my life due to dissociation. But a huge part of my healing has involved being diligent to assess what's going on with the body.

I have been doing things like cold showering with my cotton underclothes on and then leaving the wet underclothes on under my PJs ...ice packs around my head, neck, and chest/heart... sipping icy cold water, Redmond's salt, a little local raw, unfiltered honey. That's my version of the hydration formula mentioned by @Rockerduck. And I do these under air conditioning and a good strong fan. I am staying with a safe friend and sleep mostly in a good recliner.

If heat starts emanating from my neck and head, it's probably bc I skipped a few hours using ice packs and that reminds me to get those ice packs back on, pronto!

Curcumin is anti-inflammatory.
Cayenne helps blood flow, stops internal bleeding, and will stop a stroke or heart attack in its tracks.
I have been tested and shown to be low in D3 and Potassium. They both are good for the heart, as is Hawthorn.
B1/benfotamine is good for the heart, calming, and blood pressure.
Anti-v has helped me to fight off shingles a lot faster than it would normally last.

When I had heat exhaustion and dehydration, my physician recommended Gatorade for the electrolytes. Go for one of the more tasteless flavors.
Guess what I did?
Late last night, I got a hankering for some of the "pickle juice" from some homemade pickles I made awhile back ... probably a little 2 years, bc it was before I went carnivore. I made some to bring to my friend and there was a jar left. I really really had a taste, or craving for some last night. So ...I got the jar out and drank about 2 ozs of the juice and ate one pickle slice. Went to bed, and noticed the nausea had calmed way down. So ...I went and drank a little more, and ate another slice.

This morning, I have ZERO nausea! And my heart rate is back down around 80(ish) whereas it was close to 100 last night. My head and neck pain is down to about pain level 1!

I decided to add the local raw honey to it .... there's already salt in it, garlic cloves, whole dill, mustard seed, chopped onions, sliced cucumber, ACV, and filtered water ....so it's truly a tonic. I ate about 3 garlic cloves to boot. That is likely what helped my heart rate. But now with about 1/2 tsp honey, it can qualify as my "hydration formula." lol @Rockerduck

@Lambano how long did it take to recover from heat exhaustion? I have heat stroke, and am a week or so into recovery.

I don't want to take anything with magnesium bc it sends me to the bathroom quick! I usually take a small dose of magnesium glycinate every 2 or 3 days and even that can send me to the bathroom. I am low in potassuim, though, so I take about 100% of my daily allowance almost every day ....sometimes I only do about 50% ...in capsules.

That's the vinegar! Yes it helps the stomach. (as red wine does) I was brought "up old school Italian" and in Italy, the salad is last after the meal- not first course creamy dressings like Americans do.
Italians dress salads with olive oil and vinegar and serve last- The reason is the vinegar is a digestive aid. It even helps with reflux- apple cider vinegar a little water and you can add a bit of honey.- you can also add cayenne.

Your experience here sounds awful. I'm glad you're doing better. It has been a very hot humid summer here, as well. Looking forward to fall. You'll be in my prayers, TLHKAJ.

I edited my post. I have been carnivore for a little over TWO years.
