[Matthew 20:28 KJV] 28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

Who are the many in the above verse? Who would be redeemed?

[Matthew 1:21 KJV] 21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Jesus came to save his people, Israel. Israel is the many in Matthew 20:28.

[1Timothy 2:5-6 KJV] 5 For [there is] one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

Paul reveals that Jesus ransomed ALL, not just many.

Who are the many in the above verse?

The "many" would be those who actually Trust in Christ, compared to the rest who didnt.

So, this is understood as.....the UNIVERSAL OFFER of Salvation is to the "world"......John 3:16......but this Salvation is only applied one believer at a time. (on Earth)., as you can't be born again in Hell.

Then that would make Paul wrong in saying it was for ALL..................[1Ti 2:6 KJV] 6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

Jesus saying he was a ransom for many and Paul saying he was a ransom for all can be reconciled by saying both are true.
Jesus was a ransom for Israel only, but what was hidden was, that it would be revealed that it was intended for all

Then that would make Paul wrong in saying it was for ALL..........

The Cross of Christ is for the "world".........John 3:16-17.

Its a UNIVERSAL offer of God's forgiveness, to = "ALL WHO WILL BELIEVE".

So, that is the "many"....who will take the offer, vs the entire "world".

Salvation is....>>"ALL who call on the name of Jesus, shall be saved".......so, that is an OFFER, to everyone.....but not all will do it.
"Many" will, yet its offered to ALL.

Salvation is given to the "world".... as one born again Believer at a time.

The Cross of Christ is for the "world".........John 3:16-17.
You are reading what you know about the salvation by the cross into John 3:16
The cross is not in John 3:16.....Christ had not yet gone to the cross
Eternal life was for those who believed only on his name...........................[Jhn 3:18 KJV] 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

The cross is not in John 3:16.....Christ had not yet gone to the cross

John 3:16....."That HE Gave His only begotten Son, that Whosoever Believes in JESUS... shall not perish, but have eternal life".

That is Paul's Gospel, written by John.

Notice that you """"BELIEVE in Jesus""""......for Salvation. ?

And He is Given to """the world""""............

How?

ON THE CROSS.. as you could not believe in Jesus when He was in the MANGER..
......so He has to have died on The Cross, so you can go and BELIEVE IN HIM. by FAITH.

This is "The Gospel of the Grace of God".

This is Paul teaching.....>"all who call on the name of Jesus shall be saved"......or "as many as believe in Jesus, God gives to them the power to become a Son-Daughter of God".

John 3:16....."That HE Gave His only begotten Son, that Whosoever Believes in JESUS... shall not perish, but have eternal life".

That is Paul's Gospel, written by John.
You are reading "gave" as being the cross based on your knowledge of the cross
It is true that whosoever (Jew or Greek) that believed on Jesus had eternal life
Israel had to believe on his NAME for eternal life (John 20:31 John 3:18)
To believe on him and his name they had to believe he was the Christ, the Son of God

Israel had to believe on his NAME for eternal life (John 20:31 John 3:18)

Paul said that "whosover calls on the name of Jesus, shall be saved"..

"ALL who call on the Name of Jesus, shall be saved"..

Jesus said that if you "believe in me"...then He gives you "eternal life".

So, its all the same.....as we come to God through Christ by Faith, .... Jew, Gentile or ISRAEL.

John 14:6
