Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?Irrelevant. No James doesn't say faith plus works he says faith is completed by works. Not the same thing. You actually have the nerve to say poor exegesis and hermeneutics to me and write, "Paul says faith alone (not exact but that is the meaning)" I can't even fathom how nonsensical that is. That is YOUR meaning. Paul never says faith alone you can only read that into the text. I'm merely repeating what James put onto paper. You need a car better argument then this one. I had this terrible thing happen to me when I was a kid. I learned to read with comprehension.
Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
Read James better.
