[Mat 24:40-41 KJV] 40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 41 Two [women shall be] grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

This verse is not about the rapture.

When Jesus returns he will take the wicked in judgement, but the righteous will enter the kingdom.

[Mat 13:30 KJV] 30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

This is illustrated by the parable of the wheat and the tares.

[Mat 13:40-41 KJV] 40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. 41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;

The wicked tares will not enter the kingdom. They will be cast into hell.

Hi Doug,

Do you think there is any teaching about the rapture of the church in the Gospels? To my understanding, there is not. What do you think?

Luk 17:37 And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.

Re read it.
BEFORE THE FLOOD, HALF ARE TAKEN.

Under your interpretation, half The world's population is wicked and half the world's population is righteous, and they are harvested before the flood??????
Huh? ??????
so that error and others eliminates every single theory except for the pre-tribulation rapture, which is indeed "before the flood", so to speak.

Very few believers catch what is actually said.
Postribs erroneously believe the trib comes before the rapture

Interestingly enough, Jesus used two pre tribulation rapture examples.
When he announced and articulated the rapture, he used Noah and lot figuratively, and he depicted his coming as before either of them went through anything at all.

But via omission, and human intervention, postribs change mat 24 and mat 25 to invent a postrib rapture.

CHANGING THE BIBLE!!!!!

Luk 17:37 And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.
He did not answer them directly.

He said in effect "where there is smoke, there is fire"
Specifically; "where you see one, you see the other"
Did he take Noah to judgment?
Did he take lot to judgement?

Has nothing at all to do with bodies or eagles.

IOW that mis interpreted riddle is the cornerstone of the error of the postrib rapture theory.

Play it out.
Mid trib rapture error ( prewrath for you youngsters) has all the wicked gathered and burned mid trib ( prewrath).
Post trib post wrath rapture is so bizarre that the wicked under their theory is half earth's population.
Huh?????

2 men in a bed. One taken, one left.
Postribbers have a wicked satan worshipper in bed With an on fire blood washed spirit field believer.
Really????
Gets really weird one you bother to play it out.
In NO WAY can you get creative enough to twist it into some postrib theory.
Will never ever fit.

You can believe as you want but the text is telling you that the ones taken were taken to the carcase (dead body).

The whole purpose of that story is to reveal the timing of the return of christ

[1Co 15:51 KJV] 51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

Its a mystery kept secret
"we shall not all sleep" this only will consist of the body of Christ.....it is a secret rapture

where the eagles are gathered is found when Christ returns and Armagedón occurs....................[Rev 19:19, 21 KJV] 19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. ... 21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which [sword] proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

There is a lot of truth in what you have posted. However, the passage does indeed speak of what is referred to as the "rapture" so called.

The problem, and confusion comes from a few misunderstandings:
  1. The timing of salvation--of entering the kingdom, began to occur at Pentecost with the onset of Joel's prophecy of God pouring His spirit out upon all flesh. Which does not translate as everyone living and dying over many generations followed by a mass event--"but each one in his own order" according to Paul who gave clarification. Such is the meaning and process of passing from death to life everlasting--it begins when one is born of the eternal, unaging spirit of God.
  2. "The end of this world" or rather "the end of the age" passage, therefore begins when those born of the eternal spirit of God enter into the kingdom where "age" or this "world" are no longer of effect. Which is indeed a great mystery of God--because the body of flesh does continue to age and then die--which is no contradiction to life everlasting or passing from death to life--but rather simply shows the two bodies as completely different and subject to life and death differently. Paul eluded to this Godly reality, referring to those born again as "we who are alive and remain"--as being alive in God in Christ, but remaining in the world. Which was and is a completely new thing since Pentecost. In other words, "the end of the age" is referring to that body that does not age.
  3. These things were not spoken of clearly because, as Paul attempted to convey--we have been and are under restraint "until He who restrains is taken out of the way." Which was not to occur until just before "the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound", when "the mystery of God would be finished as He declared to His servants the prophets." Which is now upon us.
So, Jesus--as He said--knocks on the heart of "each one in his own order" during the church age, bringing with Him eternal life by the Spirit--a lifechanging, rapturous experience--until the last. Meaning that just as all who are born have unfolded like grains of sand through the hourglass of time, until all who are included in the greater plan of God are born, so also, each one who is born again is gathered--as though the hourglass were turned to run the other way. "Then comes the end." But do not be fooled by the fact that some do not experience the onset of life everlasting (entering the kingdom of God) as rapturous--for as Christ warned, for many, it will come "at an hour that they are not aware of."

'Immediately after the tribulation of those days
shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,
and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven:
and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn,
and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
And He shall send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet,
and they shall gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.'

(Mat 24:29-31)

'But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits;
afterward they that are Christ's at His coming.
Then cometh the end,
when He shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father;
when He shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.'

(1Cor. 15:23-24)

'For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord,
that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord
shall not prevent them which are asleep.
For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout,
with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God:
and the dead in Christ shall rise first:'

(1Thess. 4:15-16)

Hello @Doug & Marks,

The hope of Matthew 24:29-30 and the hope of 1 Cor. 15: 22-23, and 1 Thess. 4:15-16 is, the coming of the Lord. All three are the subject of Old Testament Prophecy, so are not new to Scripture ( 'For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord' -1Th 4:15) . For Paul states categorically, when making his defence before King Agrippa in Acts 26:-

'Having therefore obtained help of God,
I continue unto this day,
witnessing both to small and great,
saying
NONE OTHER THINGS
than those which the prophets and Moses did say
should come:'

(Act 26:22)

This includes the epistles written by Paul during the period covered by the book of Acts. For He, as with the other Apostles of the New Testament had received a revelation from God concerning 'The Mystery of Christ' (Eph. 3:4-5), which, though the subject of the Old Testament Prophets, required the revelation of God for it to be seen and understood. This is what Paul and the other Apostles of the Lord made known throughout the approx. 40yrs of the Acts period in ( 1 & 2 Thess, 1 & 2 Cor. Gal. Rom. and Heb.)

It was only in the prison epistles, written by Paul, that the truth concerning 'The Mystery' (Eph.3:6-13) that was revealed to Him alone, was revealed. In which the truth concerning the church which is the Body of Christ is made known, specifically in ( Eph., Phil. and Col, but also in 2 Tim. Titus and Phile.), in which their hope is also revealed in Col. 3:4. 'When Christ, Who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with Him in glory.'

Thank you
In Christ Jesus
Chris

'I will ransom them from the power of the grave;
I will redeem them from death:
O death, I will be thy plagues;
O grave, I will be thy destruction:

repentance shall be hid from mine eyes.'

(Hos 13:14)

'He will swallow up death in victory;
and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces;
and the rebuke of His people shall He take away from off all the earth:
for the LORD hath spoken it.
And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God;
we have waited for Him, and He will save us:
this is the LORD; we have waited for Him,
we will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.'

(Isa 25:8-9)

Praise God!

This article says that Paul was talking about the rapture being the events in Matthew 24. Matthew 24 isnt the rapture. Its the gathering of believing Israel into the kingdom. If Matthew 24 is talking about the rapture, the rapture couldnt be a secret mystery. as Paul says it is.

Both of those verses refer to a single body, one person. Why are you saying it’s multiple bodies?
