No,that's misrepresenting what you said earlier.I was actually asking you a question in my post , the comment about over reacting was the fact that you used the fact that we pay for newspapers is part of us turning into a dystopia. I did do some checking and discovered that that in the 1980’s there were more free newspapers ( although in newsagents you still had to pay for many of the tabloids still ) then there became a price war where cost was slashed to compete. Sales of paid newspapers declined in the mid 20th century. Many online ones are free still
Its business, so my comment about reading too much into it is linked to the reason behind it all, money , not trying to control
You said you can't even pick up and look at a newspaper,briefly read a bit of it,without paying first.
In America that is not the case.
Of course you have to buy newspapers and magazines. There and here. And it's business. So yes,there will be competition.
What it appears you are doing is avoiding the fact of GB citizens losing freedom.
