It was the entire reality of the OT and the New.
Acts 2:29“Men and brothers, let me speak freely to you of the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.”
They all understood things you and many others do not

There is no question about the evidence! This clearly contradicts the common teaching regarding the supposed immortality of the soul. In David’s case, “he” is indeed dead (cf. Acts 13:36; see 2 Samuel 7:12).

Acts 13:36 – “For David, after he had served the purpose of God in his own generation, fell asleep and was laid with his fathers and saw corruption.”
2 Samuel 7:12 – “When your days are fulfilled and you lie down with your fathers, I will raise up your offspring after you, who shall come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom.”
Who can deny?

What did David know that you all do not?

David remained in the grave and returned to dust. While he still “slept,” his greater Son had been placed in the tomb but had now risen to share in the glory of divine nature. Peter had explained this at length to the Jews in Jerusalem (Acts 2:29-31), and now Paul delivers the same message to the Jews in Antioch. His careful wording emphasizes that David could not be the one spoken of in Psalm 16.

Notice how many verses I provided with a clear understanding (OT/NT), and this is all you have? When the well is dry or the clouds are without rain what use are they?
