That response makes me think of Psalm 139:8 (KJV). If I make my bed in Hell, Behold, you are there.

But you do want to be around Jesus, and enjoy being around Him, right? And the Father too? You're not worried that if you say the wrong thing, you'll get exiled to the smoking section?

Paul said "absent from the Body (Dead) is to be present with the Lord".

Whereas, if a person departs their dead body, (dies) and they were never born again......they wont be "present with the Lord"..... they'll be in Hell.

Truth and lies are incompatible with each other, therefore whenever Truth rises to expose the darkness of a lie(s) it will initiate a battle and battle lines will be drawn.
However, most people do not know where the line has been drawn, which is the strength of the darkness covering the people.

Well, we both know that God/Jesus/Holy Spirit and teh Apostles are much more knowledgeable on this CLEAR subject then you or i.

Therefore i always RETURN to what the LORD Says is the Way of Life = "It is written"

6So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord.

Christians see things through a false paradym.

This verse is often misquoted as though Paul had written, “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” But what he actually says is, “we are willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” The common misreading assumes an instant transition from death straight into Christ’s presence. The true reading, however, allows for the Scriptural order: the interval of “sleep” in the grave, followed by resurrection and judgment.

Paul’s own writings confirm this:

• The sleep of death – 1 Corinthians 15:6, 18, 20, 51 (cf. Daniel 12:2); 1 Thessalonians 4:13–14.
• Resurrection and judgment – 2 Timothy 4:1, 8; 2 Corinthians 4:14 (cf. 5:10).

Thus, Paul’s hope was not in some disembodied immortality, but in the resurrection life to be granted at Christ’s return.

You are either misrepresenting Paul in one verse or you are misrepresenting him in the many verses he taught you about the state of the dead in Christ.
