That’s a FAR cry from saying that Scripture is our SOE Authority.
Nobody is saying that Scripture isn’t authoritative. It’s just not our SOLE authority – as Scripture itself tells us (Matt. 16:18-19, Matt. 18:15-18, Luke 10:16, John 16:12-15, John 20:21-23).
But those authorities you speak of are embedded in the Word. The only reason the church can exercise that authority is because the Living Word embedded it in the inspired written word.
Scripture teaches us on TWO ways:
Explicitly and Implicitly.
BOTH of these teachings about Mary are implicitly taught in Scripture.
Lies!
Matt. 1:25
25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name Jesus.
Joseph did not have sex wioth Mary until Jesus was born1 that is explicit in the bible. there is no implicit teaching that Mary refused her husband sex to stay a virgin.
As for Mary being sinless? If there was an implicit teaching in Scripture, you would have swiftly showed the passages to prove me wrong.
PREICISELY.
The Church was led by the Holy Spirit to this truth – just as Jesus promised:
John 16:12-15
“I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now.
But when he comes, the Spirit of truth, he will guide you to ALL truth. He will not speak on his own, but he will speak what he hears, and will declare to YOU the things that are coming.
He will glorify me, because he will TAKE from what is MINE and declare it to YOU.
Everything that the Father has is MINE; for this reason I told you that he will TAKE from what is MINE and declare it to YOU.
You agreed with me! this could start a trend! the church did not decide which books. It was God working in and through the church that brought them to that decision. He would not entrust eternal values to the whim of any man.
Thes implicit teachings are all over Scripture.
The fact that the Bible NEVER makes the claim that Mary had other children is implicit evidence of her Perpetual Virginity. We only read about some of the “Adelphoi” of Jesus. This term was applied to brothers, half brothers, cousins, uncles, nephews, kinsmen, same tribe, fellow believers and even fellow countrymen.
There are 344 instances are instances where the word “Adelphos” and all of its variations are used in the NT:
- 41 times (12%) are cases where "Adelphos" clearly or probably refers to a family sibling.
- 47 instances (14%) are cases where "Adelphos" may or may not refer to a family sibling.
- 256 instances (74%) are cases where "Adelphos" cannot or almost certainly does NOT refer to a family sibling.
Among other verses, Luke 1:28 gives us a glimpse of Mary’s sinlessness.
The Greek word is “Kecharitomene” that Luke used in his Gospel (v.1:28), which is the perfect passive participle, indicates a “completed action with a permanent result”. It translates, “completely, perfectly, enduringly endowed with grace.” Mary is the ONLY person in ALL of Scripture who is called “Kecharitomene.”
The Angel didn’t say, “Hail Mary, full of grace.”
He said, “Hail, Kecharitomene” . . .
As for "Adelphos" you are worn wrong wrong!

The KJV translates Strong's G80 in the following manner: brethren (226x),
brother (113x),
brother's (6x),
brother's way (1x).
Outline of Biblical Usage [?]
- a brother, whether born of the same two parents or only of the same father or mother
- having the same national ancestor, belonging to the same people, or countryman
- any fellow or man
- a fellow believer, united to another by the bond of affection
- an associate in employment or office
- brethren in Christ
- his brothers by blood
- all men
- apostles
- Christians, as those who are exalted to the same heavenly place
As for these being Joseph' children from another marriage? Not at all likely. When Jesus was a small child the Maji told them to flee for Herod was to kill Jesus. Only Mary, Joseph and Jesus fled to Egypt. There is no implication that there were four brothers and at leas two sisters that went along or abandoned and left behind!
Adelphos when referring to family gives a possibility of the four brothers to be half brothers. but the rabbis speaking would have known that for they had lived there for at least 25 years.
As for Mary and
Kecharitomene.” other manuscripts have the word charitoo which is synonymous, it means one who has been endowed with favor. It says nothing about sinlessness, just that she was graced by God to bear Jesus!
But the rest of Scripture says all have sinned with no exceptions. Your implicitness is based on a romansit predisposition that has been indoctrinated in yo from a child, not from any implicitness in Scripture.
and it is a far dangerous thing to make a doctrine that very vaguely might imply something without any other evidence! But nice try1
It cannot mean cousin- there was aword commonly used in Jesus day to designate cousins.
