I hate creepy black bugs but Dragonflies are pretty. I remember seeing them in Pennsylvania.

I never had lobster and never wanted to. I hate the thought of them or anything being hurt.

Years ago my aunt told me my cousin, Ray, was making scallops I think it was. When he threw them into the boiling water, they started to cry out like babies!!! Ray took the pot and threw the scallops and water out onto the snow in the backyard. Poor scallops died either way but I guess the snow was better than boiling water.

I briefly watched part of a show featuring the actor Steven Segal and called, Lawman.

They were at a Japanese restaurant and the cook brought out a lobster on a platter. Its back shell over the tail was removed and it was alive!

The tradition for this "delicacy" was to eat that tail meat as is.
Its claws were wrapped in rubber bands and its little feet were desperately working to run,but it was pinned.

I cried and turned the channel. Had I been there I'd have grabbed the lobster and ran.

My husband use to crab. He brought home a bushel of crabs one summer and put them in the sink with running water keeping them hydrated.
I came in and looked into the sink and all their little claws went up in defense. I started crying and apologizing out loud. Each one slowly put down their claws and let me pet their shells.

I left the house. There was nothing I could do to save them. But that was the last time he brought crabs home.

He says the noises crabs and lobster, scallops, make isn't their screaming but is something else.
Maybe that's how chefs live with themselves.

Oh that's so horrible about that poor lobster!!!

One time I saw a travel show and it was Asia. They brought out plates of small fish... maybe three inches long. Sat the plates in front of the dinner....the fish were still alive, flipping around!!! I can't understand people doing things so cruel. Hopefully the fish expired due to lack of oxygen sooner than later.

Me too.

There's all sorts of murdering at the table live animals as evil food practices in this world.

* I reckon that worked well for some but I wouldn’t have fared well in that kind of academic setting. *

* I’ve heard riled up rattlesnakes close by before but I’ve never made an effort to calm one down. Don’t believe I will. *
