Adam and Eve were practitioners of disobedience to the word of God

So you think Adam and Eve were practitioners of sin?

Or Adam and Eve were practitioners of disobedience to the word of God.

Adam & Eve were not practitioners of any of the above.

It took only ONE instance of disobedience to God’s sole commandment:

“…of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” (Gen 2:17, KJV)

Do you ever sin? Of course you do!

“They search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search: both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep.” (Psa 64:6, KJV)

Ofcourse you know nothing about me.

But your deep projection is very revealing.

1 John 3:8 (ESV)
8 Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil.

The Answer don't need no practice.

Do you think Balaam was right or wrong when he said, 24:23
And he took up his parable, and said, Alas, who shall live when God doeth this!

None of us can be completely obey every word of God.

Your evading my simple question answers my question.

Guess who said this.

1 John 1:8 (KJV)
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

Sure you can!

“Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves another has fulfilled the Law. For: "Do not commit adultery; do not murder; do not steal; do not bear false witness; do not lust;" and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this word, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."” (Rom 13:8-9, MKJV)

Guess who said this.

1 John 1:8 (KJV)

John.

Then he said this:

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1Jn 1:9, MKJV)

And once you are cleansed:

“Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin…” (1Jn 3:9, KJV)

You're so EVASIVE! John included himself. I think John was at least as much Christian as you.

And so, let's try again. Do you ever sin?

I will answer after you tell what sins you wilfully commit in defiance of God.

Because according to scripture:

“…they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.” (Gal 5:24, KJV)

It appears you still have not done so…

How many times do we need to circle back?

You refuse to answer my question.

So, I will not answer until you answer.

Modern, watered down, translation.
Whosoever sinneth (ο αμαρτανων). Present (linear) active articular participle like μενων above, "the one who keeps on sinning"

The translators were obviously aware of this dilemma: It is pretty much the universal testimony of Christians through the ages that they occasionally do commit sin. If Christians are completely incapable of sin, then every sinful thought, every failure to love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength and every failure to love your neighbor as yourself, and not selling all you have and giving the proceeds to the poor to follow Jesus means you're not saved. Not to mention it blatantly contradicts what the author wrote earlier in the same letter:

If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. (1 John 1:8-9; 2:1-2)

So, the translators, noting the present active participle form of the verb. translated it as an ongoing action, "practice sinning". Frankly, I think this misses the point. The rhetorical purpose of the letter is to exhort the reader to avoid sin.

One of the mysteries of life to me is why God does NOT (in the words of Chuck Wesley) "take away our bent to sinning".

To Those who reject confession of sins to be saved to begin with.

Because they haven’t been cleansed yet:

For (next verse):

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1Jn 1:9, KJV)

Anyone with a “bent to sin” isn’t saved, or has lost their salvation without remedy…

Nope. "Have no sin" is in the present active tense. Stop deceiving yourself; it's sinful.

I'm more intrigued by this one. Those here who say they have "walked in the Spirit" describe it in terms that sound like an altered state of consciousness. But that is something only God can make happen; it doesn't seem to be something we can do at will. Why doesn't He do this more often and with all believers?

Ah, so you commit sin then…

But:

“Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil…” (1Jn 3:9-10, KJV)

How prideful and defiant it must be to openly sin and be unashamed to show it!

But, as the scripture says:

“The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul!” (Isa 3:9, KJV)
