Netanyahu spoke directly today at the UN. He promised Israel will “finish the job” in Gaza and destroy Hamas. He attacked Western countries who have recognized a Palestinian state, saying it rewards terrorism. Netanyahu also promised the war will not end until all hostages are released, Hamas is disarmed, and Gaza is fully demilitarized. He said the war will not end because Hamas won’t release the hostages. Netanyahu flatly rejected all accusations of war crimes or genocide. He said these are false charges and biased. Israel even broadcast his entire speech into Gaza, by loudspeaker and other means. Many delegates in the chamber actually walked out as he was speaking, in protest.

The only right thing would be for Hamas to release the hostages. Nothing else can bring peace or resolution until they are. Innocent people’s lives are being held as bargaining chips, and that fuels the entire conflict. Were the hostages released, the war would be able to come to an end, but until they are, Israel will keep fighting.

There is only two ways to destroy something like an ideology.
1. publicly demonstrate through reasoning that that idea is false.

2/ to kill everyone who holds to that ideology.

I want to speak plainly. Your statement bundles a number of unrelated ideas. Some of them are false. The Bible says, “Do not spread false stories” (Exodus 20: 16) and “Speak the truth in love” (Ephesians 4:15).

The claim that “Jews control the media” is not a statement of fact. It is an old antisemitic (anti-Jewish) tale that is false and harmful to Jewish people. It is also not true that the president of the United States refers to Mr. Netanyahu as “Father.” God is the only Father we have in heaven (Matthew 6:9).

When discussing either hostages or the news, we should stick to the actual facts from reliable sources and speak gently. “The wisdom from above is pure and full of mercy” (James 3:17). I would like to do that.

The deeper reason Hamas and groups like it exist is the sin of hatred. “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy” (John 10:10). Islam’s teaching that no land once held by Muslims can belong to non-Muslims is rooted in man’s tradition, not in the Word of God. God promised the land of Israel to Abraham and his descendants as an “everlasting possession” (Genesis 17:8). That promise predates Islam by thousands of years.

Israel has the right to defend itself and demand the hostages back. And until those who took them repent and turn from violence, there will never be real peace. “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: ‘May they prosper who love you!’” (Psalm 122:6).

Evil must be named for what it is, and the only real solution will come from God changing hearts.
