Learn to Love Winter This Year

I've decided not to complain all winter but to do my best to enjoy it this year.

I'm making a winter bucket list, looking up winter themed books and movies, and just getting excited about the season.

For no other reason than fun, I will be planning a dream winter wedding.

I would like to make hot cocoa and chocolate chip cookies from scratch. I want to try making cheesecake, carrot cake, and those thumbprint chocolate Hershey cookies.

Living with dramatically different seasons- I have had to learn to like them all. There are pros and cons to all of them for me..

Your recipes sound wonderful- I do all of those!! but that is a negative about winter- weight gain-.. haha

What I love about winter is- the peaceful beauty and quiet strength of snowfall. It seems so quiet unlike rain- and yet it is piling up and turning everything pure white. I love to just watch it fall.
The harvest is over and once again the Good Lord has provided-
It definitely causes me to nest-
I always end up in the kitchen making the cozy dishes we haven't had all summer. Those one pot all day simmering meals are missed.
Comfort foods.. and baking bread and pies and biscuits and scones for coffee in the am..
Fires in the fireplace
Flannels
Soft blankets
Good books
Candles
Family visits- board game nights

But before we get to winter- there is still a gorgeous fall to enjoy!-
apple crisps, pumpkin everything, chai tea, pumpkin lattes, sweaters.. falling leaves

Theres this cute movie called the Christmas Card about a veteran making himself at home in a new small town. This movie may not win any awards but I really have grown attached to this movie and it's beautiful snow scenes.

Normally, I complain about winter for one reason or another. This year will be different. Fall is my favorite season, but as I think about the coziness of winter and all the introverted goodness, I'm learning to appreciate winter too.

I definitely love a good snowball fight. Its one of my favorite games.

Winter is just a tad too long for me. By Feb 1st I want to be done... but I decided to just take the time to plan for spring gardening and what not. It's not a surprise that many flee to Florida in Feb.
Summer is a little rough as it gets too humid for me. I'm with you - fall is the best!

It's still autumn and I'm still enjoying the still-green leaves and looking forward to the autumn colours appearing in a couple of weeks. It's not actually winter till the solstice on 21t December.

Hmm. There is a big difference between a North Carolina winter and a Wisconsin winter.

Or a winter in Buffalo, NY. (@Nancy, you'll probably like NC winters better. Unless we have an ice storm. I'll take snow over freezing rain.)

Winters can differ quite massively depending where in the world you are. Here in England our winters tend not to be too severe. But we must all have our ways and means of getting through them. I like to change my cushions , throws and bedding, bringing a warmer feel to my rooms.

That reminds me of my Grandma. She loves to change her bedding, throws, and cushions with the seasons. I love my Grandma. There's nothing quite like the way she keeps her home.

I knocked a few baking items off my winter bucket list. I made chocolate chip cookies and cheesecake. They both turned out well liked.

70 degrees in November here in NC. Ive been loving this weather!

I have my window open a little here in Los Angeles. It gets cooler after four so will shut it soon.

We are supposed to get some rain next week...which I love since we rarely get rain. Our rainy season is from late Autumn to early Spring. But sometimes it doesn't happen, unless an El Nino year. Where I grew up in Pennsylvania, we had rain year round.
