[1Corinthians 2:7-8 KJV] 7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, [even] the hidden [wisdom], which God ordained before the world unto our glory: 8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known [it], they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

There are those who say that Peter and the disciples all preached the same gospel. They say they preached the cross for eternal salvation for all who believe.

This verse has implications to those who hold this view.

If Peter and the disciples did preach the cross, then all that the cross accomplished would have been made known, and they would not have crucified Christ.

According to scripture Peter and the disciples could not have preached the cross because they didn't understand anything about his death and resurrection...............[Mark 9:31-32 KJV] 31 For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day. 32 But they understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask him.

Jesus did not preach the cross for salvation. Jesus privately told the disciples that he would be put to death and rise again to fulfill all that was written in the prophets.................[Luke 24:44 KJV] 44 And he said unto them, These [are] the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and [in] the prophets, and [in] the psalms, concerning me.

Jesus did not preach the cross. Jesus preached the gospel of the kingdom..........[Matthew 4:23 KJV] 23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.

WHY JESUS AND THE TWELVE APOSTLES DID NOT PREACH THE CROSS

Because Jesus was walking amongst them.

Once Jesus was crucified and rose again, then the complete gospel was revealed.

The twelve were sent to preach the gospel.......................[Luk 9:2 KJV] 2 And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.

The whole false premise of this Thread is just silly and foolishness.

One cannot preach The Gospel of Jesus Christ without preaching the cross, because without mention of Christ's death and resurrection is to omit the main event of The Gospel Good News.

And Christ's disciples could not preach about Christ's crucifixion and resurrection until it happened. HOWEVER, they were able to preach The Gospel of the Kingdom which is about God's Salvation Plan through His Savior Jesus Christ, which also is part of The Gospel.

So after Jesus had been raised from the dead, and appeared among His disciples, then He taught them about His death and resurrection being the pivot of His Plan of Salvation for the remission of sins of those who believe. And that knowing is what He then sent His disciples out in final to preach The Gospel to the nations.

The kingdom of God is what is coming in the end. The gospel is the means to get into the kingdom.

Peter preached the resurrection but not the cross for forgivness in Acts 2 and Acts 10 and Acts 15

Please look at these two verses..........................
[Luk 9:45 KJV] 45 But they understood not this saying, and it was hid from them, that they perceived it not: and they feared to ask him of that saying.
[Luk 18:34 KJV] 34 And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken........................why was his death and resurrection hid from them?

Yes, and that was AFTER Christ's death and resurrection. The crucifixion and Jesus being raised from the dead had to happen first before the Apostles could preach about that part of The Gospel. Yet my point in my post included 'other' parts of The Gospel which Jesus and His Apostles preached PRIOR to His crucifixion.

Even you should be able to realize that If there is No Jesus on the Cross, you can't preach it. @Grailhunter

So, when Jesus was on the Earth.......talking only to the JEWS as this was His MINISTRY......He had not died on The Cross yet., and that is why He could not offer Paul's Gospel, that is "We preach Christ CRUCIFIED".. to the Jews......during Christ's minstry.

its interesting that you and PS95, and LoveYeshua......cannot comprehend that Jesus could not tell the Jews about His Cricifixion, because during His 3.5 yrs of ministering to the JEWS.....>He had been Crucified yet. And after He rose from the Dead, He didnt go back to the Jews, as His ministry was OVER.

Not sure what you are saying Acts 2 10 & 15 was after his resurrection and Peter still didnt preach the cross
Yes they did preach the gospel of the kingdom but that didnt include preaching the cross

Uh... you're joking, right?

What is the subject of the Acts 1 Chapter regarding Jesus Christ and His Apostles? You mean you didn't see anything written there about proof of Christ's resurrection with appearing among His disciples in an upper closed off room? Acts 2 happened AFTER that Acts 1 Chapter.

And in Acts 2:22-32 Apostle Peter is SPECIFICALLY preaching The Gospel of Jesus Christ! How could you miss that?

And once those present who had yet to believe heard Peter preach The Gospel, they then asked what should they do, and Acts 2 states...

Acts 2:37-42
37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, "Men and brethren, what shall we do?"

38
Then Peter said unto them, "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

39
For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call."

40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, "Save yourselves from this untoward generation."

41
Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

I think it is funny about you talking about comprehendtion when you comprehend so little.

Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? Matthew 16:24-26

We are talking about Christ and the twelve Apostles. The cross is more or less the theme of the New Testament. And no one said any thing about Christ going back to the Jews. But I am sure the Apostles did.

Yet Old Testament Israel was... given major clues about Christ's crucifixion.

It was written in Psalms 22 and Isaiah 53. They just were not given to understand that yet. And when Lord Jesus quoted, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?," from Psalms 22, it was not written that the Jews present at Christ's crucifixion understood why Jesus quoted that either. Even many Christian pastors show they don't understand why that Psalms 22:1 Scripture was quoted by Lord Jesus on His cross. (He was still teaching, showing that it is HE, The Messiah, Which David and Isaiah were given to prophesy about).

And remember, The Gospel was first preached to Abraham, according to Apostle Paul (Galatians 3 and Romans 4). And at the end of John 8, Jesus said Abraham rejoiced to see Christ's day, that hints that Abraham understood the actual Gospel of Jesus Christ. Thus The Gospel is a theme covered also in The Old Testament Books.
